*Thank you for checking your child's planner every night and helping them practice organization skills!
To Be Noted!
With the 1st quarter coming to an end soon and report card going home, I would like to ask for your patients. There is a large difference between the 3rd and 4th grade report cards. I have been working on grades in Power School, however have not finalized reports. If you have any questions please be sure to email or call me.
Thank you.
Notes from the Nurse
It is a good idea to check your child’s head for lice on a weekly basis. Good lighting is the key to finding those pesky bugs. If you think your child may have lice, let the school nurse know so she can follow up.
Think Like Fish
The purpose of this field trip is to learn about salmon. Students will explore the salmon’s life cycle, what salmon need to survive and how to think like a salmon.
Parent volunteers will be driving students to and from the center, as well as helping students along the trails.
Parent Volunteers and Drivers:
Keri-Ann Baker
Tanya Buttram
Kristi Wickstrom
*We need one more volunteer to make this trip a go...
Volunteers, please meet in the classroom no later than 12:25.
Thank you!

Library News
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming soon! Monday October 27th--Friday October 31th, the Book Fair will be open all week during the school day. The Book Fair is open all day both days of Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Tuesday October 28th 4:30-6:30 is Family and Friends Night at the Book Fair with door prizes and refreshments. Come one and all and help support the library!
The Students go to the Book Fair during their regularly scheduled library classes and during after lunch recess. They may buy books and/or make wish lists that their teachers give to the parents during Parent Teacher Conferences. This gives the parents a chance to see well thought out book requests from their children. Teachers will also pick out books that they wish for in their classroom. Parents and students have a chance to buy a book and donate it to the classroom. A personal placard in the book denotes the donation.
You may go to our Scholastic Book Fair homepage at the following address for book previews, dates, and more:
http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/westhomerelementaryschool1
There will be books, science kits, notebooks, posters and more—something for everyone! The students help me run the Book Fair. There will be lots of books and we will have lots of fun!!!!!!!
See you there,
Lisa Whip
