Peek At The Week
April 15, 2019
Team,
What a week! STAAR + MOCK STAAR = Worn slap out! You have done an amazing job keeping the flow of instruction happening at SMS. Thank you Mrs. Kraemer, Dr. Torres, Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. King for hopping on the testing logistics train and helping! We could not have done it without your diligence!
It sure is easy to have stinkin' thinkin' this time of year. So, I am asking you to avoid it at all costs. The Final 4 (March Madness, College Basketball games) brought many upsets this year. Brackets were destroyed! Coaches were constantly adjusting their offense to meet and supersede their opponents defense and vice verse. People lost a bunch of money because the normal 'dance' partners got knocked out. What would it have been like if there were no adjustments made? Don't let this be you...doing the same thing, hoping to get different results
Another thing to ponder...being positive. Just as important as building positive relationships with students is, we must also build strong relationships with our staff. This is not done overnight. Its built over time an with intentional efforts. In order for you to believe in yourself, we all must believe in each other. A little encouragement goes a long way. We should always be focused on performing at our personal best. Sometimes it's necessary for the Coach to change the game plan. When one fails, we all fail. When one wins, we all win. I am determined to model grit and resilience in the face of adversity and to teach these to you. No matter what comes our way this week or the next, we will always prepare like warriors and perform like champions.
As always, Teach Happy!
-Denise
