FALCON FLYING OVER MAIN STREET MIDDLE SCHOOL

Big picture
On Thursday, a decoy falcon (Defenders Falcon) was installed at the Main Street Middle School play field in order to deter other birds from eating the turf seed that is planned to be spread. One of our friends, Phil Franscioni offered to lend us this devise and we took him up on his offer. So keep an eye on the falcon watching over Main Street, it's a neat device.

STUDENT RECOGNITION

Students of the Month

As we have mentioned before, our Board takes pride in recognizing students at their regular meetings. On November 13, 2019, our Secondary Principals introduced their student selection to the School Board. They are also invited to the Soledad Rotary Club for introductions and they get to eat a delicious lunch with the Rotarians. Congratulations to all the students!

Employees of the Month

For the Month of October 2019

Congratulations to all Employees of the Month. Every month we feature a school site and invite the Principal to introduce their selected employees to the Board. They receive a "goodie bag" in appreciation for all they do. This month, Main Street was highlighted. In December Frank Ledesma Elementary will be invited.

Employees, don't forget to cast you vote at your site for your Employees of the Month!

School Board makes special recognition to Members of our MOT Department

So as not to bore with the power outage, we will tell you that when the power was shut-off in Soledad on October 26th, the district had to take immediate action so as not to lose all our food to feed students next Monday. Eric Rodriguez, Maintenance Supervisor, immediately got on the phone and called his staff to come help move all the food from all the schools' cafeterias to large refrigerated trailers to one site. They worked through the weekend and went above and beyond. They left their families to come help out our students. Beth Wilson, CBO along with Vice-President, Javier Galvan, presented them with a Certificate of Recognition and a Starbuck's Card. Recognized were:

Alfredo Valdez

Christian Ibarra

Oscar Martinez

Reynaldo Alcantar
