Biggest story of the month!
King Philip ll was the king of Ancient Greek Kingdom from 359 B.C. to 336 B.C. because of his assassination. He was a involved/member of the Argead dynasty. He was born in 382 B.C. Pella, Greece and was assassinated in 336 B.C. , Vergina, Greece. King Philip the ll had gone to for a celebration of a marriage of his own daughter in the ancient capital of the kingdom of Macedon. While he entered the kingdom unprotected, one of his 7 bodyguards stabbed him and killed him. His name was Pausanias of Orestis. King Philip the ll had 7 children, their names were Alexander the Great, Philip lll of Macedon, Cynane, Thessalonike of Macedon, Cleopatra of Macedon, Caranus, and Europa of Macedon. Philip became leader of Macedonia in 359 and became king by 357. We interviewed the people involved and witnessed the murder of king Philip ll. We interviewed the murderer, Pausanias of Orestis. He didn't have a lot to say after what he did at King Philip's daughters celebration of her marriage. As we interviewed him, he had already planned to kill the king. He also told us he had planned an escape, but he tripped and also slowed him down down to be speared by a royal guard. We also interviewed the royal guard who caught Pausanias. He saw him and was able to catch up to him and get him. The reason why he killed King Philip ll was because Philip had allowed Attalus and his friends to rape him. So Pausanias of Orestis got revenge on King Philip the ll. As he told us that before he was sentenced. Then Pausinias was killed by capital punishment. It was a devastating day as he is no longer with us. We also interviewed his children. They did not have much to say, as they were sad and lonely of their father’s passing. Macedonia slowly disintegrated. And Alexander automatically became leader of Macedonia after this tragic day. The generals agreed and proclaimmed him king, making Alexander the ruler/leader of Macedon. In order to secure his throne, he killed everyone who could have a possible claim to the kingship. Some Athens wanted to rule after his murder which made Alexander mad. So he had to kill them. He told us he wanted that throne and he would do whatever it took. I would never imagine it would have gone this far. From what Alexander and his brothers and sisters told his, his dad have had 3 different spouses. Their names were Audata, Olympias, and Cleopatra Eurydice of of Macedon. King Philip’s accomplishments were that he gained domination all over Greece by military means. He was a Great king according the Macedonia. King Philip conquered an empire. He did so much for this place and so much for his wife and kids. I am sure they are very thankful for all he has done for them. He was a leader, conqueror, and a king. A great Macedonia King.
