Dear Beacon Hill Students and Families,
As we wrap up the first semester of this school year, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible achievements of our middle school students and thank the scholars' families for your collaboration with the teachers and staff. Your involvement, encouragement, and partnership in your child's education have played a significant role in their success. Thank you for being incredible partners in their academic journey! It's time to shine the spotlight on the incredible team behind the scenes, making our school days a symphony of joy โ our Middle School Music Department! ๐ผ
๐ค Vocal Wizard- Dr. H brings a unique sense of harmony to our school. His enthusiastic approach and deep passion for vocal harmony has made a remarkable impact on our students. With his magical touch, Dr. H skillfully blends musical notes to create choirs that are capable of inducing tears of joy. Our choirs are amazing and have performed all of over the City of Atlanta in the last few weeks earning lots of accolades. ๐ต
๐ท Band Magician - Dr. Kraemer is an exceptional music educator who leads our school's band with remarkable skill and style. Her passion for music is evident in the diverse range of pieces she chooses, from soulful ballads to upbeat marches, which inspire our budding musicians to reach new heights. Under her guidance, the band has evolved into a formidable musical powerhouse, earning the admiration of even the most discerning critics. ๐บ๐ฅ
๐ป Orchestra Sorceress - Dr. McCranie possesses the ability to transport us to different worlds through her enchanting string performances. From classical symphonies to modern compositions, she inspires and cultivates our students into becoming the maestros of the future! Dr. McCranie has a record of amazing performance success and our orchestra students have performed intricate pieces that take the audience to another world. ๐ถ๐
Our Music Department is hitting the right notes! Year after year, they rack up awards and recognitions. ๐๐ Whether it's 1st place at regional competitions, accolades at state festivals, or simply stealing hearts at local events, our music maestros are making waves in the community and beyond. These musical wizards don't just limit themselves to the classroom. They lead our students in a dazzling array of performances that light up our school community. From festive holiday concerts to tear- jerking spring and fall performances, they keep us entertained all year long!
So here's to our Middle School Music Department โ the unsung heroes behind the scenes, turning our school into a symphony of talent and camaraderie. Bravo! Encore! ๐๐
Term One Grades and Reports
BHMS Families and Students, will be able to log into Infinite Campus to view term one Report Cards on January 4th. When you log in, you can go to the Documents tab to find the Report Card PDF. Winter MAP scores are also available in Infinite Campus. If you click on the More tab and select Assessments. Scroll down to District Assessments and you will see your studentโs most recent Reading and Math MAP score.

Spellbinding School Spelling Bee Event!
Our school's spelling bee was an action-packed event, with 12 brave spellers battling it out for a whopping 55 rounds on a Monday morning. This kind of dedication is truly impressive! We applaud all the spellers who gave it their best shot, and our top six spellers will move on to the CSD District Spelling Bee on January 20th. However, there can only be one BHMS champion. The crown went to Nuha Muneer, who left everyone in the crowd stunned. It was a breathtaking performance that left us all spellbound. Holy dictionaries, what a competition!๐๐ ๐๐

BHMS Young Georgia Authors Writing Winners!
Kudos to our BHMS Young Georgia Authors (YGA) writing competition winners! The purpose of the YGA writing competition is to cultivate students' passion and skills in writing and recognize their achievements in arts and academics. These students' hard work and creativity have earned them this prestigious nomination. Please join us in cheering our writers on as they advance to the regional competition. Stay tuned as regional winners will be announced in late February 2024.

BHMS Staff Holiday Party
The PTA Hospitality Committee thanks the school community for their support in our efforts to celebrate the teachers and staff at Beacon Hill. This past Friday, our dedicated staff enjoyed an evening of delicious food and fellowship. Thank you to those who gave of their time, donated sweet treats and provided support to the PTA. Special thanks to The Solarium for a beautiful venue and to Three Taverns Brewery for their in-kind donation. Wishing everyone a joyful holiday season!

Does your child need tutoring, or time to complete make-up work? Sign up for Saturday School today! CSD teachers will provide academic support to students in grades 6-12. This program is free to CSD families. The time is from 9a - 12p at Beacon Hill Middle School.
