Nothing gets people up and dancing like a ceilidh. A ceilidh is a traditional dance night where everyone joins in, regardless of age or ability, and it's a great way to meet lots of people in a fun, informal way.
You do not need to know how to dance, or have ever done Scottish Country dancing before to join in and have some fun. All the instructions that you will need are provided by our very own Iain Carmichael on the accordion as he walks you through each dance first and then calling out the steps during the dance to keep us all right. Even complete novices can join in and enjoy it! The fun part is that most of the dances are done in 'sets' of between 6 and 8 people (in some cases long lines of many more) and these sets constantly change with adjacent ones, so that people get to 'mix' during the dances.
Watch the clip below from last year's ceilidh to get an idea.
Swimming Costumes
Swimming lessons for students in all years will start in May. Swimming costumes for the girls, and either jammers (or boxer style shorts in a limited range of sizes) for the boys, are available from the PTA.
