Reporting Issues

There are several ways for students and families to report issues to La Mesa. Emailing one of our administrators directly is one option:

Principal Michele Krantz

Text-a-Tip is a confidential way to report issues. The number is (661)524-5166. Messages go the phones of all three of our administrators.

You can also email a tip to

You can also call the school directly at (661)250--0022.

The bottom line is if you see something, say something. Please never assume we already know.

ID Cards

Students have always been required to have an ID while on campus. Beginning January 13th, when we return from winter break, IDs will need to be visible on a lanyard or clipped to their clothing above the waist. Lanyards will be provided as students enter the gate on that Monday.

We are working to secure a system that will allow us to scan each ID as they enter campus. This is already done at Golden Valley. It will allow us to have a list of who is on campus before attendance is taken first period. This was a concern on November 14th as we went into lock down before school started.

Students may purchase a new ID card in the library for $5 if theirs has been misplaced.

PBIS -Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports

Did you know that La Mesa is a PBIS school? At La Mesa All Lobos H.O.W.L. They honor integrity, own actions, work hard and lead. We use a variety of ways to recognize students who H.O.W.L. Expectations are set out in our matrix (click here to access) in all areas of the school including in the classroom, in the hallway, and even in the bathroom. We did our kick-off event at the start of the year. Students can earn tickets to spend at the HOWL Store (open twice a month) and gain entry into the HOWL Hut. We also do special events like a dance at lunch where students participate by "purchasing" a ticket with their HOWL Tickets.

The staff enjoys recognizing positive behavior students show. This reinforces these behaviors making the campus safe and fun for everyone.
