Supporting families in need
MCHS is looking to partner with local companies to support our families in need. Proper nutrition is found to contribute to positive school outcomes, better behaviors and learning environments and increase brain functions. Here at MCHS we are looking to support our students' learning by being able to provide supplemental lunches and snacks to a small population in need. If you or someone you know would like to donate fresh produce, non perishables or even a monetary contribution, every ounce of it will go towards supporting the students of MCHS.
Thank you for considering, if you have any questions or concerns please contact Courtney MacDonald at cmmacdonald@gsacrd.ab.ca
Remembrance Day at MCHS
We would like to thank all of the organizers, the volunteers, students, staff, community members, honored guests and Father Trini for making our Remembrance Day Ceremony a great success. All who attended were able to take the time to remember the brave members of our armed forces, past and present, who fight for our freedom, democracy and safety. Thank you for your service!
Lest we forget.

SAFE AND CARING SCHOOLS
GSACRD Voice
You might have heard the term “Movember” used every November, and you might associate it with men growing out their mustaches to raise awareness for prostate cancer. Did you know that we also advocate for all types of health for men in November, including mental health? Globally, on average, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, and in Canada, 75% of suicide victims are men. Men sometimes aren’t comfortable reaching out and opening up about life’s challenges – or they think they’ll be burdening their friends if they do. The first step in looking our for them is reaching out. Check out the graphic below for using the ALEC model to support the men in your life, or visit Movember.com to learn more information, campaigns, and resources around men's health.
Counseling Corner
We'd like to take the time to mention that we offer a range of counselling services at MCHS. Whether it be for academic or personal reasons, students can get help. See the contact information below for details.

MCHS Career Fair
For students who are still unsure about their professional future or simply for those who want to explore all options, career fairs are an invaluable way to get the information you need to prepare yourself for what lies ahead. MCHS will be hosting a variety of Trades & Companies to help inform students about requirements and skills needed for the Skilled Trades Careers in Alberta.
Don't wait for your future to come to you, go out there and seize it!

JV girls volleyball
Congratulations to our JV Girls Volleyball team for a great season. The girls really came together at the end of our zone tournament and played their best games all season. They all improved in their skills and were a pleasure to coach. Thanks to Karen Smith and Shayla Kachnic for all their time and dedication to our season.

FAITH AT MCHS
Beautiful Bits Of The Bible
Revelation 1:8, NIV
"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."
More Than a Broken Record
First Reading
Are you different? I mean, do you stand out? A lot of people go to great lengths to just blend in. Go with the flow. Do whatever is popular. But St. Paul is helping us see that conforming to what the world tells us, isn't actually what a follower of Jesus should look like. We need to be transformed and stand out, looking and sounding and acting more like Christ each day.
