La Costa Meadows Elementary School
Weekly Dolphin Blast
Week of May 21, 2023
I hope that this communication finds you enjoying your weekend!
This week is our final week of CAASPP testing for our 3rd - 5th graders. We are so proud of the effort that students have put forth thus far! If your child will be testing this week, please continue to ensure that he/she has a hearty breakfast, gets a good night of sleep, and comes to school each day with earbuds and/or headphones and their Chromebook fully charged.
This Wednesday, May 24th is the Annual Elementary Track Meet. All families are invited to come out to San Marcos High School from 4-7 PM to cheer on our LCM Track Team! Coach Chindlund has been working hard with the students to prepare them for this exciting event. Go Dolphins!
It's going to be a great week filled with fun, learning, and Dolphin spirit!
With Dolphin pride,
Mrs. Bedard

School Site Council Parent Representatives Needed
The School Site Council is an elected group of parents and staff. The primary responsibility of this committee is to review and approve our annual School Improvement Plan, including our School Improvement Budget expenditures. The committee works closely with staff on our continual process of curriculum improvement and the allocation of resources directed towards the improvement of our instructional programs. School Site Council does not deal with fundraising, activities, or facilities. This is a great way to get involved with the school.
The School Site Council is comprised of ten members: five parents (of La Costa Meadows Elementary School students) and five staff members. It meets approximately four to six times per year. Meetings begin at 5:00pm and last approximately one hour. Members serve two year terms. Our first meeting with the new 2023-2024 council will be in late August or Early September.
We currently have three vacancies to fill and are soliciting candidates. If you are interested, please complete the attached form and return it to Mrs. Bedard via email at mandy.bedard@smusd.org by Wednesday, June 7th. Please call 706-290-2121 if you have any questions or need additional information.
