VETERANS

Do you know a local veteran? The 7th grade social studies teachers need your help!

This year, we are inviting Lexington County veterans (or those that are actively serving) to our campus to interview about their lives, service, and the choice they made to serve/help others. We plan to preserve veteran stories into a magazine that will be released to the public that will focus on the veterans of Lexington County. This will be a wonderful experience not only to help our students grow into effective communicators, but also to preserve the history of their bravery and service to our country. We ask that anyone that knows of a local veteranthat would like to be interviewed by our students to please fill out the google form link https://goo.gl/forms/vvUvNk1qgpo6mOU43

Learning Commons News

"Paws for Books Book Fair" - Spring Scholastic Book Fair

Our spring Scholastic Book Fair will be in the Learning Commons from April 9th to April 13th (the week after Spring Break). Stop by the Learning Commons from 7:35 to 4:00 to shop for some great books of all ages or shop our online fair at http://www.scholastic.com/bf/meadowglenmiddleschool1 from April 4-17th. Here is what students can bring to the Learning Commons to help our furry friends in need:

Fireflies Baseball Reading Program

Would you like for your student to be able to go to a Fireflies baseball game for FREE? All they have to do is read 4 "just right" books from February 7th until March 30th. If they meet their reading goal, they will receive a free ticket to a Fireflies baseball game, a hot dog, drink, chips, and surprise while at the game! This is a great opportunity to have your student make a reading goal. Students can get their reading log from their ELA teachers, in the Learning Commons, and from the Learning Commons Schoology Course.
