It is time to secure your child's spot at St. Joseph Catholic School.


  • By now, you should have received a link to complete the online application to reenroll your student for the 2022-2023 school year. This online application MUST be submitted by Friday, January 28th at 3pm. Please keep in mind that families with delinquent financial accounts will not be eligible to reenroll. If you do not have the link, please email Mrs. Brown at sbrown@stjosephwhschool.org to inquire about it. Please keep in mind that in order for you to receive the early reregistration discount, you must complete the online application AND pay the registration fee.
  • You should have received email notification that you have been billed the discounted reregistration fee of $225 per child. The payment is scheduled to come out of your account through FACTs on Friday, January 28th. If you do not wish to make this payment through FACTs, it is your obligation to reach out to Mrs. Brown via email no later than 12 noon on Tuesday, January 25th. Payments will not be able to be stopped after noon on the 25th of January. If you email Mrs. Brown to request a stop payment on this fee, it is your obligation to ensure she receives your email and action has been taken with the receipt of an email reply from Mrs. Brown. If you do not receive an email reply, you need to follow up with her.

Parent Teacher Conferences by Zoom

COVID has brought about some convenient opportunities for all of us. The convenience of holding meetings by Zoom can certainly be considered an advantage that has evolved from this pandemic. If you have a scheduled Zoom meeting with your child's teacher or member(s) of school staff, we strongly request that you give this Zoom meeting the same importance and attention that you would if you were coming to school for a meeting. That means, we need you to schedule a time that you can commit your full attention to the conversation. Additionally, we ask that you have your camera on so the meeting can be face to face. Please avoid multi-tasking during this meeting. During these meetings, we are giving you, and your child, our full attention; we ask that you do too! Thank you for your cooperation.
Parent Teacher Conferences by Zoom

4th Grade Service Project

Our 4th grade classes are doing a service project to go along with learning about the saints. The students created bookmarks about a saint they researched. The Knights of Columbus generously donated 100 Bibles so that each student could give two bibles with his or her bookmark to Catholic Charities for people in need. The students are also including a food item with these so that they can “nourish people’s souls and bodies”. Mr. Lacen, a representative of the Knights of Columbus and father of Jorge and Gabby, recently joined us for Mass and presented the bibles to our 4th graders. We are grateful to the Knights of Columbus for helping us with our 4th grade project!

Unintended Consequences: The Hidden Impact of Growing Up Digitally

We had a great turnout Tuesday evening for the Unintended Consequences seminar presented by Tami Murphy. Thank you to all who took time out of their busy schedules for this important information. At the presentation, Mrs. Murphy stressed the importance of parents monitoring student devices. She provided a list of Parental Control Software to help you monitor your students. Family Catholic Trivia Night

We are excited to host our first ever Family Catholic Trivia Night on Wednesday, February 2nd! Bring your family and answer questions about and learn about our Catholic faith. Our SJCS Concert Choir will sing the National Anthem at the Lakeland Tropics Soccer Game on Friday, January 21st. The game begins at 7:05pm at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland. Admission is free. All families are invited to come support our choir and enjoy a game with your SJCS friends and families. See you there!

field trips and fingerprints

We are approaching the time of year when many of our classes enjoy field trips. Please keep in mind that all chaperones must be fingerprint cleared through the Diocese of Orlando. If you plan to join your child on his/her field trip, please be proactive and ensure that your prints haven't expired. You can email Mrs. Roberts at sroberts@ stjosephwhschool.org if you would like confirmation that you are cleared.

If your child has been trained to altar serve at St. Joseph Catholic Church and is interested in serving for weekend parish Masses, please email Mrs. Ochoa at tochoa@stjosephwh.org.

Alumni Games

All SJCS Alumni are invited to join us in our gym for an Alumni Basketball Game on Tuesday, February 1, at 6pm. This is typically an event for our high school students to come back, celebrate Catholic Schools Week with us, and catch up with friends from SJCS. This is open to all alumni, not just those students who played basketball when they were at SJCS. If you are interested in attending, please email Coach Edwards at ledwards@stjosephwhschool.org.

lunch next week

Due to some supply issues, one of the lunch options for next week has changed. SLA will not be able to offer Ham and Cheese Sandwich. Rather, they will be offering a Ranch Turkey Wrap instead. We apologize for the inconvenience.

plastic bags needed

Please start saving plastic grocery bags, the ones you receive from stores such as Publix and Walmart. We will need these plastic bags for a schoolwide service project during Catholic Schools Week. You may start sending them in with your child(ren) next week. We will need thousands of bags, so everyone's help would be greatly appreciated.

We have two fun events coming up - Daddy Daughter Dance and Mother Son Bowling. I am currently looking for two volunteers to chair these events. Both events are rather simple and a great opportunity for a new volunteer to get involved. If you are willing to serve as a chair or co-chair, please email Mrs. Haas at thaas@stjosephwhschool.org.
