Welcome to October!
MARCHING ARTS LIVE
MARCHING ARTS LIVE MAP
MASKS ARE REQUIRED!!
DISTANCING IS REQUIRED!!
Remember - 6 feet distancing is MORE than "arms length". If two people can reach out and touch fingers then they are probably too close (unless they have 3 foot long arms).
Band Show etiquette
A marching band show in a stadium is VERY different from a football game. While you ARE encouraged to clap and cheer for things like you see or hear that you enjoyed – it is NOT appropriate to have discussions during a performance. There will be time between performances to have those discussions. It is also not appropriate to enter or leave the bleachers during a performance. Unless it is an emergency please refrain from entering or leaving the bleacher area during a performance. There will be time while the bands “reset” for the next show to have discussions or visit the restrooms. This important area of etiquette helps all of those around you enjoy the performance (it also helps anyone who might be videoing the performance to have a nice clean copy of their student’s performance).
PLAYOFFS!!
Future games are still a question mark. More playoff home games are possible. Regular season games are also possible (if they lose in the playoffs). Stay tunes to social media. As soon as we know... you will know too.
HS/MS visit
This coming week the 8th grade band will visit a HS Band rehearsal.
Without the ability to do an 8th Grade Night at a football game this is a new way to create the connections between MS and HS.
Inspiration
Amibition and leaderhsip are BOTH good things. Refusing to quit is also a good thing. But refusing to quit on whom??
Leadership doesn't require a "title" such as manager, boss, section leader, or field commander. Leadership starts as simply looking out for the people on your left and the people on your right. Leadership is doing the little things that earn the trust of others. You earn their trust and they'll follow you. Leadership is refusing to let OTHERS quit.
Life is about teamwork. Whether you are a freshman clarinet player... a doctor... a lawyer... a line worker in a factory... military, stay at home parent, pastor, or fast food worker... you are a part of a team. YOU can make that team better by looking out for the people to your left and to your right and REFUSING to let them quit. Be their leader.
This week... go be a leader!!!

The 7th grade band will begin working on "Hang on Sloopy" in preperation for their performance with the 7th grade choir.
The 6th grade band is working hard to learn new notes and new rhythms. Soon they'll get some music for the Christmas Concert.
