McAnally Weekly, May 21st

Your weekly update on everything McAnally!

Dear McAnally Parents,

What an awesome day! Fun Day 2021 was a great success. It was so nice to cut loose and celebrate this crazy school year. The kids loved it and we are leaving today with a buzz. Our last Friday at the "School of Dreams" is in the books. We are excited to finish strong next week and send our Class of 2027 off to 7th grade. Early release on Thursday at 12:30. Please make sure that your child has a ride arranged and clear plan for getting home.

Thank you so much for your support of our work. You are the foundation that our success is built on.

CORE CLASS UPDATES

ELAR

As we close out the year in language arts, students will be working from a choice board of activities involving mythology, informational, poetry, and literary texts.

MATH/PreAP MATH

In our final week we will finish up our unit on circles. We will take the remainder of the time to reflect on content learned this year, give feedback on favorite lessons, and challenge/teach our classmates to learn a new concept from information learned in IXL this year.

SCIENCE

Students on Monday will take the Earth and Space Unit District Common Assessment. The rest of the week will be spent reviewing the test and what had recently been learned in class.

SOCIAL STUDIES

This week we will wrap up our trip around the world by learning about the indigenous people of Australia and New Zealand, the Great Barrier Reef, and the effect the depletion of the ozone is having on that region and the world.

Registration for the 2021-2022 school year is open!

Big picture
2021-2022 School enrollment is now open! This is for all students, returning or new, in all grades. If you’ve lived in the district for at least a couple of years, you’ll remember we typically send home a commitment form for you to fill out in the spring to let us know if your child will be returning, and then you complete registration during the summer months. Because we are such a fast-growth district, completing registration now will help us know which students are returning next year so we can reserve that spot for your student and also staff appropriately for their campus. You can find information information for registering all students at aledoisd.org/register.
