Family Update
September 10, 2021
Hello Families!
We are so happy to have our students back in person! To maintain a safe environment, students are required to wear a mask during the school day, and maintain 3 feet of distance from others. Students are not permitted to share food in the cafeteria. At this time, the sharing of birthday cupcakes, candy, and other treats are prohibited. Thank you for your understanding as we work to keep our students and staff safe.
Social Justice Lessons:
Twice per month, teachers will be integrating lessons that focus on one of the four Social Justice domains from Teaching for Tolerance: Identify, Diversity, Justice, and Action. The topic for the first quarter is "Identity". The lessons around "Identity" will focus on developing a positive sense of self, pride, confidence, and healthy self-esteem. Students will explore how their culture contributes to their sense of identity and develop a sense of pride in their culture.Monthly Focus
The monthly focus for September is "Awareness". Our lessons will focus on helping students develop self-awareness as well as awareness as to how their words and actions impact others.
