-A Bird's Eye View-
September 3, 2019
Your Tweetcher for the week of 9/2 is......COURTNEY BRIGGS
Shout-out to CECC Speech Pathologist, Courtney Briggs, who captured the amazing picture below of her daughter, Raelyn, and CECC teacher, Jessica Johnson. It's apparent that Ms. Jessica has already made a big impact on this little Cardinal.
As our district makes an intentional effort to prioritize relationship-building with our students and each other, this picture was a perfect example of the impact it is having.
This picture reached over 4,000 people on Facebook and received over 300 likes!
*STAFF TAILGATE PICNIC-Join us this Friday evening for a staff tailgate picnic prior to the start of the CHS Cardinals home opener football game. More details to come soon, but plan to bring your family to this fun event.
*#WEDNESDAY WHY-Help us show our stakeholders why the CSD is a great place to work and learn. We will be beginning a new weekly social media feature, which we are calling #WednesdayWhy. Every Wednesday we will be featuring staff members, students and parents and their "Why" for choosing the Clinton School District. If you are interested in being featured, please use this form to tell us your "why"!
*GET TO KNOW A CARDINAL-Are you interested in being a part of our staff feature section in our newsletters? If so, use the form found here to let us know you would like to be a part of the fun staff features.
*JEANS WEEK-Interested in an opportunity to wear jeans to work for an entire week? The Clinton Education Foundation will be holding their 4th annual 5k/Fun Run on September 28th at 8:00 am. All CSD staff who register and take part in the event, will earn a jeans week coupon! You can find more info here. The Education Foundation supports the CSD by providing classroom impact grants to teachers as well as scholarships to graduating seniors.
*NEW TWITTER ACCOUNTS-If you create a new classroom Twitter account, please email the Twitter account to alawson@clintoncardinals.org. Please also check the social media directory found here on our website to ensure that your info is correct. If something is missing or incorrect, please let us know.
*TRAINING VIDEOS-Have you watched your required training videos yet? Don't forget that the deadline to watch the videos is September 5th. You received an email from Michael Grissom with information on accessing the system to watch the videos. If you have additional questions, please contact Lori Shannon.
*WEBSITE CALENDARS-Here's a helpful tip about the calendars found on the website! If you see "more events" listed on a specific date on a website calendar, please click "more events" to see all events taking place on that day.
*BOE MEETING MINUTES-Wondering where you can find Board of Education meeting minutes? BOE meeting minutes are posted here on the website. Please be aware that minutes are typically posted 10 days to two weeks after a meeting.
*TEXT MESSAGES-All new staff members need to follow the directions found here to opt-in for text messages that are sent through our mass communication tool, SchoolMessenger. Opting-in to receive text messages must be done from the cell number the district has on file for you. If you are a returning staff member and have changed your cell number since last school year, please contact Central Office to provide this new number. You will then need to follow the directions above.
*ALL STAFF EMAILS-In an effort to reduce the amount of email received throughout the district, we are asking that all "everyone" emails be sent to alawson@clintoncardinals.org to share in the bi-weekly staff newsletter. We would like to make the staff newsletter a centralized location for news, reminders and information, so we appreciate your help with this!
*NEW APP-Do you have the district's new app on your phone? If not, you can find it on the Apple App Store or Google Play by searching for "Clinton School District".
**********FROM THE BUSINESS OFFICE**********
In the link below, you will find a short video that focuses on the importance of regular visits to a primary care physician.
Thanks!
Emily
GET TO KNOW......JAIME BRIGGS
*Tell us what you do in the CSD, how long you have been here and why you enjoy being a Cardinal.
This is my 9th year teaching 2nd grade at Henry Elementary. I enjoy being a Cardinal because I work with the best adults and children! Love being part of this “village”. I graduated from Clinton in 2006.
*Tell us a little bit about your family/where you are from.
I was born and raised in Clinton. I grew up with my parents, Doug and Kristi Kenney, and my 3 older brothers, Josh, Jeff and Jake. I went to Avila University for my undergraduate and Master degrees and played basketball. I am married to Colt Briggs. We have 3 kids, Wyatt (5) is a kindergartener at Henry Elementary, Peyton (4) is a preschooler at CECC, and Ryder (20 months) is just living his best life at daycare.
*Best vacation you've been on and why?
Disney World because I’m really just a big kid.
*Favorite, can't-miss television show?
The Walking Dead, Grey's Anatomy, and I might watch the Bachelor.. I mean maybe.
*Describe yourself in 3 words.
Busy, Caring, Dedicated
*What are 3 things people would be surprised to know about you?
*I can dribble a basketball with my knees.
*I think Nintendo 64 is still the best game system ever (and I always beat Jake Kenney at Smash Brothers!)
*I can’t whistle.
RENEWED VOWS
Pictured below with Jenni and Kiel are their adorable boys, Charlie and Warren.
