History of Earth Day
Gaylord Nelson created Earth Day. He was very disappointed with the deforestation and that no one cared for the Earth. Nelson went to talk at 25 states, but he did not not attract politician's attention. Finally they declared Earth Day a national holiday.
Reduce
Avoid over packaged food.
Buy durable goods.
Avoid disposable goods.
Reuse
Reuse products as different things.
Make two sided copies.
Sell old belongings.
Recycle
Buy recycled products.
Buy recyclable materials.
Use recycled paper.

In the USA, food is wasted about 3,000 pounds per second.
