Saint Lawrence Every Friday Note
April 14, 2023
1 hour late start Monday (Doors open at 8:25)
The Stretch Run
Happy Friday! Next week begins the opening of the ILEARN testing window. We are excited to see the growth that our students have made this school year. Your child's teacher should have sent you a schedule of when they will be testing these next few weeks. Please make every effort to make sure that your child is in school to test. This is a required test for the state.
We also have a number of other events coming up. Grades 6-8 will be going to CYO Camp Monday and Tuesday next week. Our preschool students are also going on a trip to the Children's Museum on Tuesday.
Although the weather has finally started to break, we still have quite a bit of school left to complete. We are continuing to focus on procedures and instruction with the students.
This past week, many Saint Lawrence students had the opportunity to go to the Indianapolis Indians baseball game. A handful of students, led by Miss Raciti, did a great job in representing our school in singing the national anthem prior to the game. This was a great opportunity for our students and I am so excited they got to experience it. You can see the video below.
Please read the message below about our last day of school which is on Wednesday, May 24th, noon dismissal.
Growing Concern
A growing problem at Saint Lawrence Catholic School is the number of students who come into the building smelling of secondhand smoke from cigarettes and/or marijuana. This is an unfortunate situation for our students, both the student directly as well as their classmates. The smell permeates the classroom.
This is just one are of concern. The other is the unseen impact that it is having on our students. Our children are still developing. Exposure to secondhand smoke, be it from cigarettes or marijuana, in a compact area like a car, may be producing undesirable effects on your child throughout their school day.
Please make every effort to keep your children free from secondhand smoke on their way to and from school each day.

policy for details on our process.
2. Registrations will be open through May 12th . Mr. Maxson has taken a look at students who were registered before April 4th and marked those "pending accepted" who are not on conduct, academic or tuition probation. Large green envelopes with financial aid and school office forms were sent home on April 7th. You will have 30 days to return the
registration fee and all paperwork. Students who were registered after April 4th will be "pending accepted" each week and paperwork will be sent home.
2023-2024 Tuition and Fees structure for K-8
New tuition rates – our base tuition rate will be going up from $6913 per (K-8) student to $7190. For those students that receive the CHOICE scholarship, this difference of $277 will be mostly covered by the increased scholarship amount.
The STREAM and activity fees are not changing. STREAM is still $160 per family and activity fees are still $200 for K-7 and $300 for 8. Both of these fees can be covered by financial aid. The registration fee and processing fee are the only two fees that cannot be covered by financial aid.
Usually the registration fee is due 30 days after student acceptance and the processing fee is due by August 1st . We are not increasing either fee, but we are combining them into one fee that will be due within 30 days after the student has been accepted for the 23/24 school year.
One student = $150 ($125 registration + $25 processing)
Two students =$200 ($175 registration + $25 processing)
Three or more students = $250 ($225 registration + $25 processing)
Eucharistic Revival
One of the great things happening at Saint Lawrence Catholic School is our participation in the National Eucharistic Revival. This year, we have had a few holy hours of adoration as a school in which we spend time with the presence of Jesus. Recently, the US bishops discerned that it was our Mother Mary, under the title Our Lady of Guadalupe, who would be the patroness of the National Eucharistic Revival. As we get ready to celebrate Our Lady of Guadalupe this weekend and Monday, the timing could not have been better.
In addition, Blessed Carlo Acutis is the patron of the Year of Parish Revival! Blessed Carlo Acutis is a millennial who is on his path to sainthood and is already considered to be the "Patron Saint of the Internet". We studied him in one of our morning meetings as a saint of the day. This is an exciting time for the church.
