Social Emotional Learning Theme: Gratitude

In November, our K-5 classrooms will enjoy reading the book, Gratitude is my Superpower, by Alicia Ortega. Classroom conversations will help students reflect on being thankful! Why teach gratitude? Gratitude helps people experience positive emotions, build relationships, and improve overall health.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

In November, the Increase Miller Compact Team, comprised of administrators, teachers, and parents, will continue to highlight more cultures and holidays so that children can continue to see themselves and learn about the world around them.

This month, we are highlighting...

National American Indian Heritage Month and Thanksgiving are just some of the holidays recognized. Our bulletin boards, book selections, and Morning Meeting will continue to provide opportunities for conversation and learning!

PTO After School Activities/Eddie's Extras!

You do not need to complete a Change in Dismissal Form. The PTO gives us class rosters for the activities taking place. Your sign-up serves as your dismissal plan. Pick-up will continue to take place with PTO staff at 4:45 pm in the cafeteria and/or gym.
Change of Dismissal Form Link

Please click the link if your child's dismissal plan changes from the typical routine. Reasons to complete the form include playdates, early pick-ups from school, and pick-up at 3:30 pm in the gym.

As a reminder, please call the school in the morning if your child is absent. The school attendance line is 763-7150.

Looking Ahead: Outdoor Recess

As the chilly weather approaches, please be sure your child comes to school in clothing that is appropriate for outdoor play. If the temperature, including the wind chill, is below forty degrees, students should wear the following:

  • Warm coats
  • Long pants

On snowy days in order to play in the snow (including sledding) students will also need:

  • Snow pants
  • Boots
  • Hats
  • Gloves

Please be aware that if a student is not dressed appropriately, he or she will be unable to attend outdoor activities (including recess). If the temperature including the wind chill falls below twenty degrees, the students will stay inside for recess. Dr. Louis A. Corsaro, the school district physician, has advised us in these matters.
