FIGHTING FOR INDEPENDENCE
HISTORICAL EVENTS: MEXICO
One of Mexico's great leaders is a man named Miguel Hidalgo. He helped gain independence for the country by delivering a marvelous speech and leading brave soldiers into battle. The speech he gave was called Cry of Dolores. In this speech Miguel rang the church bells and shouted against the Spanish government. Soon after people started following his cause and turned to his side. He won countless battles and held a victory streak for a great time. To end all this excitement, Miguel was captured by Spanish inquisition and got shot down. Later beheaded. Today on September 16, the president delivers the Cry of Delores to a giant crowd in Mexico. This day is called Mexico Independence Day.
TREES FOR FEES
DEFORESTATION: BRAZIL
In Brazil there lives the Amazon Rainforest. In the rainforest there are tons of different species. Even ones unknown. So the rainforest is home to many living things from plants to animals so cutting it down will leave these creatures homeless. Everyday people are cutting down trees from the Amazon Rainforest. Well in the wildlife, everything happens in a Domino effect system. Trees are usually prey's habitat and if the trees die the prey die. This means that there will be no food for predators. So then predators will die leading the whole world into problems. It's funny how little things can have a big affect. Also trees give off oxygen for us humans to breath. It's like our species is trying to reduce the amount of breathing we do. Do you want the whole human race to wipe out?... didn't think so. One way we could stop is making laws that make cutting down a certain amount of trees at one time is illegal. We could also spread the word that trees give off our oxygen so that people have an idea in their minds that cutting down so much is wrong!
A COMMANDING COMMUNISM
GOVERNMENT: CUBA
Cuba isn't like most countries. Cuba is has an Autocratic type of government with a dictator. A dictator is someone who rules a country all by him/herself. Their dictator's name is Fidel Castro. Fidel Castro came in power after he overthrew Fulgenicio Batista from his power. Since Fidel is a dictating leader, he has no end point to his power. One issue that's with Cuba is their freedom in economic decisions. Cuba runs a command system so Cubans get no freedom in their businesses. This is a very bad system of government but Castro is running it anyway.
