Parkview's Mock Trial Team Ends Their Season with Awards
Congratulations to the Mock Trial team as they closed out their season last weekend in Athens. Best attorney awards were earned by Harris Wallace and Lilian Fan, best witness Kyle Klerk and Anh McMullin, and outstanding performance awards earned by Sophia Thomas, Lilly Adan, and Kamora Fellows. Great job Team Law for a great season!

Literary Team Sings Their Way to the Award Podium
Please congratulate the Parkview literary team. Parkview came in 2nd overall at the Georgia High School Association Literary Competition and took home a clean sweep of the music categories. Despite a lengthy weather delay on Friday the 3rd, Parkview Track & Field was able to not only finish Need for Speed 14 but came out victorious on both sides. We had multiple event winners across the teams.

HOSA Students Place 2nd at State Leadership Conference
Congratulations to Yasmin Mohammed and Megan On who placed second in the state in Public Health last week at the HOSA State Leadership Conference. They now have the option to compete at the HOSA International Leadership Conference in June in Dallas, TX.

Women's Soccer Takes the Win Over Rival Brookwood HS
Congrats to the girls varsity soccer team on an impressive 1-0 win against Brookwood on March 7th. The goal was scored by Kathleen Ngulefac, and MVP of the match was Kayla Longstreth. Come out tomorrow night at 5:30pm to support the girls against Newton for senior night!

Varsity Soccer Dominates Newton on Senior Night
On March 9, Parkview Varsity Soccer took on Newton and both teams came out on top. For the boys, Senior Night was led by John Charlton's hat-trick, his third of the season. Other goal scorers were Carlos Garcia, Dylan Alsmeyer & Simon McDonald. Carlos Garcia and Jalen Waithe both added two assists on the night. Kendal Henry & Clay Refling combined for the shutout in goal. The girls’ varsity soccer team had a victory of 10-0 against Newton. Goals were scored by Ella Price with a hat trick of 3 goals, Kathleen Ngulefac with 2, Gaby Guardado, Alex Gib, Marley Camp, Ana Braziunas, and Sarah Cook.
Senior Day on the Court Produces Wins for Men's and Women's Teams
Congratulations to the girl's varsity tennis team for defeating South Gwinnett on senior day (March 7)! Winning for the lady panthers: Zari Haque, Brooke Saye, Taylor Goodwin, Kathy Yuan, Lauren Jones, Sarah McDonald and Varleria Hernandez Soto! The boys racked up a victory over South as well winning 4-1. Winning for the panthers- David Hronek, Jim Hamilton, Will Grable, Dylan O'Quinn, Harrison Tran and Alan Zhao!

Both the boys and girls Varsity tennis team won their 2nd region match against Grayson 3-2. Winning for the panthers- Zari Haque, Sarah McDonald, Taylor Goodwin, David Hronek, Will Grable and Harrison Tran! Congratulations to our tennis panthers!

Our Parkview 3DE students work hard every year to create businesses, services and products that are introduced at their annual Market Day. Market Day is open to Parkview students only during advisement periods on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 10:15am - 1:15pm in Parkview's "Old" Gym.

Student Council will be Holding Elections

Reserve Your Space and Mark Your Calendars for the 2023 Parkview Day - An extravaganza of activities highlighting our community and raising money for the Parkview PTSA.
Vendors - Pay $30 for a dedicated parking spot ($50 for two side by side) through 2/28/23, when the price goes to $35 a spot ($60 for two side by side). Bring your own set up (tables, tent, cash for change, etc.) and sell your stuff to families in the community - food, crafts, creations, and more*! You keep 100% of the profit. *No alcohol or CBD products allowed *Parking spots are approx. 9’X18’.
What we will provide:
- A dedicated parking space in the parking lot in front of the Parkview Gym.
- Activities to draw in people to see your wares
- Live entertainment - Kiddie Corner sponsored by school clubs AND Food Trucks!!
Why are we doing this?
The budget of the Parkview PTSA has been considerably impacted from changes over the last few years. We want to establish an annual fundraiser that is fun, benefits the community, and allows the PTSA to continue its great work. This day will help to unify the Parkview community to raise money to continue the Parkview PTSA programs like grants for teachers, school gifts, teacher/staff hospitality activities, Baccalaureate program, Reflections, and student advocacy.

- This year, 11th grade students must take the SAT on SAT School Day (3/22/2023) or The Gateway Social Studies Assessment (3/22/2023).

Tip Of The Week
How to Excuse an Absence
- A student must bring a written note from the parent/guardian providing an explanation for an absence.
- A parent phone call or email will NOT excuse an absence.
- Students have two days upon return to school to provide a note.
- Notes must be turned in to the Attendance Office.
- If the student forgets to bring a note, the absence is considered unexcused.
- After 10 parent excuse notes in a school year, the school may request additional documentation, including doctor's notes, to continue to excuse absences and tardies.
Please see the GCPS student handbook for the full list of excused absences as defined by state law.
Excuse notes should include:
- Student Name
- Student ID#
- Date of Absence(s)
- Reason for Absence(s)
- Parent Signature/Name
- Parent Daytime Phone Number
Did You Know?
The Attendance Office is where you can pick up your ADAP certificate and your Certificate of Enrollment after you order them on MyPaymentsPlus.
Course Registration for 2023/2024
Students are able to see their course requests for the 2023/24 school year through the Student Vue App. If a student/parent requested changes to classes on the paper registration sheet, they can check the StudentVue App periodically over the next two to three weeks to see that the change has been made. The Curriculum Office will be working on these requests over the next couple of weeks.
Please Be On Time Daily
- As a reminder, school begins at 7:15am. We are aware that traffic is heavy. Please leave home early enough to arrive to school and be in 1st period on time. Thank you for helping us have your student to school on time!
- If a student arrives to school after 7:30am, the student MUST check-in through the Attendance Office. If a student needs to leave school for any reason after arriving to school, the student MUST check-out through the Attendance Office. The Attendance Office is located inside the main building lobby.
Don't Forget Your Chromebook
Please remember to bring your FULLY CHARGED Chromebook Daily! It is important to have these everyday for class use.
Please Don't...
- Bring outside food or have it delivered to anywhere on the school grounds, but please do finish any outside food before you arrive on campus and enter the school.
- Have flowers/balloons/gifts delivered to the school, but please enjoy your celebration at home.
- Expect to check your student out after 1:30, but please do have your student bring a note first thing in the morning so they can get a pass to check-out before 1:30.

Registration for Summer Health and PE is now Open
Does your student need to free up his or her schedule to allow for band, theater, chorus, strings, or athletics? If you answered yes, then you should consider allowing your student to take Health and Personal Fitness (PE) during the Summer of 2023 through the Parkview Community School located at Parkview High School.
- Classes will meet virtually, M-TH, May 31st – June 29th.
- To register, complete the registration form and send it by May 17th to Parkview Community School, 998 Cole Drive SW, Lilburn, GA 30047. Registration opens March 1, 2023.
- The fee is $250.00 per class.
- Trickum MS and Parkview HS students will make payment through MyPaymentsPlus no later than Monday, May 22. Look in the category of “Community Schools”. The Summer Health-PE Registration Form must also be completed on MyPaymentsPlus and sent to the Community School. (Address at bottom of page 2)
- Non-Trickum and Non-Parkview students may pay with a check. Payments and registration forms must be received by Monday, May 22.
