Angel Tree Letters

Angel Tree Letters will be in your child's Friday Folder today. We invite you to join us in this most special tradition at Hilton Elementary.

Please have your child decorate an angel at home, and return it to school with a donation if it is possible for your family.

Each morning, until December 18, children are invited down to the office vestibule to glitter their angels and add them to the tree. This year, students will be given the chance to take their donation and use the funds to vote for their favorite ugly sweater. Ugly sweater pictures will be hanging on the windows to the courtyard. Every penny is vote. Send in all of your loose change to help our Angel Tree make a difference in the lives of Brighton children and families.

Thank you,

Suzanne Johnson, Courtney Lauer, and Mary Beane

Principal's Message

Hello Hound Families. Thank you for coming out to the Brighton Ford Window Painting last evening. The BIG event is yet to come. On Tuesday, December 11th, from 5:00 - 6:45, the voting takes place. This is when we make the bid to win for the 4th year in a row. Rumor has it that Hornung Elementary is making a push to take our crown. Let's come out and show them who is top dog!

PTO Meetings

The next meeting will be held on December 11th at 2:30 pm. Please join us to offer your support and ideas.

Popcorn Friday (December 14)

Due to the Holiday break, the next Popcorn Friday will be on December 14th. For $0.25 (or a Toe Token) your child(ren) can purchase popcorn popped by Hilton’s parents during lunchtime. To volunteer, just visit https://www.myschoolanywhere.com/login.a5w.

Hilton Holiday Gift Shop (Dec. 4th through 7th)

Next week our students will have the opportunity to shop for their friends and families during school hours. You have received a packet regarding procedure and prices. Please fill out the envelope and return it to school with your child(ren). This is a fun event which will be enjoyable to everyone if we can get some more volunteers. Please go to https://www.myschoolanywhere.com/login.a5w to sign up. If you did not receive your packet or have any questions, feel free to email the PTO at PTOHilton@gmail.com.

Staff Appreciation Luncheon

Every year, the PTO organizes a luncheon for Hilton’s teachers and staff to show our appreciation for their hard work and to thank them for taking such good care of our children. We will host this event on Thursday, December 13th in the Staff Lounge. We are in need of volunteers! If you would like to donate food, beverages or paper products, please sign up via the link below.

Box Tops (December 19)

Please continue to collect box tops. The next deadline submission will be December 19. We will no longer be sending home Box Top Sheets. You can send them to school in a plastic bag with your child’s name and teachers name on it. In the past, money raised through this program financed the field trip transportation as well as granted up to $100 to each classroom for much needed supplies.

Hilton Hound Dog Apparel

The following websites are local businesses which now sell Hilton Hound Dog items. Please check them out. The Holidays will be here soon!

Ivory Vines

Finland & Fawn Boutique

*New* Artsonia Online Art Gallery

Everyone should have received an email to approve access to Artsonia. The artwork created by our students will be now uploaded to this new online art gallery. You will be able to view your child(ren)’s art online, share with others, create a fan club and order keepsakes. These could make the perfect Holiday gift. Volunteers are still in the process of uploading artwork to this new system. So please keep checking back. If you have not received an email for approval or have any questions, please contact your PTO at HiltonPTO@gmail.com

Hilton Recycling Program

Hilton receives money for recycled paper! There is a green dumpster outside the school located next to Hilton Road. Every Friday, Ms. Michael’s class collects recycled paper throughout the school and places it in the dumpster. You can donate too! But only paper please (no cardboard or phone books). It is an easy way for our school to earn money while teaching students how to protect the environment!

Kroger Shoppers

Hilton is now enrolled in the Kroger Rewards Program. Please support the school by linking us to your Kroger Rewards Card. Our number is 68151 or you can just type our school name in the search window at https://www.kroger.com/communityrewards

Amazon Smile

How fun would it be to shop, while at the same time, earning money for our school? Amazon Smile (https://smile.amazon.com) is through Amazon.com, in which they donate money for most items purchased through their website. The fun part is that the website keeps a running total on your account to see how much money you donate to the school just by shopping with them. Check out this 30 second video to see how you can add a shortcut to your (mobile) home screen to ensure all your Amazon purchases benefit Hilton Elementary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWgglu7ZCDE.

Coca Cola Give

Attention all Coca Cola drinkers! Another way to earn money for Hilton Elementary is through the Coca Cola Give Program. By collecting Coca Cola caps and codes, Hilton can earn money to purchase supplies for physical education, sports, technology and/or arts. Most Coca-Cola beverages that have a product code under its cap, or printed on its paper packaging, are eligible to be used for donation. Here is a link to the reference list of participating brands https://us.coca-cola.com/participating-brands. Please collect these clean items in a plastic bag and send to school with your child. There is a drawer in the office for collections.

Background Check

If you are planning to volunteer at school at all this year, BAS requires a background check. Here is the link to get that done:
