What is a leader?

A leader is a person who is in control but has good intentions. Someone who is referred as a role model. The qualities of leadership as evidenced through a servant's heart, confidence, and people skills influence society by bringing positivity and inspiration to society.

Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela showed a servant's heart by demonstrating that it was always better to give than to receive. A man who capable of starting to abolish the line that was set up to devide the non-whites and the whites.

• He encouraged people to take part in nonviolent demonstrations against the government racial segregation policies.

• He managed to open a door that would lead non-whites to a better education, housing, economics and over all a better life with peace among all.

• He fought for equality.

Mr.Mandela's work truly impacted society at that time. Non-whites in South Africa were the first big step of a new era, they were the first ones that were able to vote.

  • He stood up for what he believed was the right thing to do
  • He used logic and emotional communication to the people of Rome to get on his side.

Closing

Given that, there are positive and negative leaders, but each leader has their own special quality that makes them unique. For example, Mandela once said, "When you want to get a herd to move in a certain direction, you stand at the back with a stick. Then a few of the more energetic cattle move to the front and the rest of the cattle follow. You are really guiding them from behind. That is how a leader should do his work" which means, that its always better to give than to receive. Nelson Mandela has a servant's heart, Marc Antony had confidence and Bill Gates has good people skills. The qualities of leadership as evidenced through a servant's heart, confidence, and people skills influence society by bringing positivity and inspiration to society.
