"Bloom Where You Are Planted"
News from the Principal
We hope that you have had a great week and are ready for the weekend! Don't forget to "fall back" by turning your clocks back one hour.
We know that illness has impacted our attendance the last couple of weeks and are hopeful that this will soon pass. Please make sure that students are here if they are not ill.
Book Fair preview took place Friday and students are excited to purchase items next week. Feel free to come and visit the Book Fair with your child before and after school, during lunch and extended hours on Thursday. Proceeds help support new books in our library.
Parent conferences are wrapping up! Thank you to those who have come in to visit with our teachers. It is not too late to get your scheduled for the fall. Please reach out to your child's teacher for additional information.
Thanks for all that you do!

Attendance
It is our goal that students be in school unless they are sick or there is an emergency. If students must be absent ensure that a doctor's excuse or note from parents explaining the reason for absence is turned into the front office with Michelle Toczynski. Excuses can also be e-mailed to Michelle.Toczynski@boerneisd.net.
We will be implementing various measures to follow-up with students on absences this school year, they are as follows:
- Phone call home from teacher at 3 absences.
- Teacher will conference with student at 5 absences.
- Phone call home from administration at 8 absences.
- Attendance letter sent home and parent conference with administration at 10 absences.
It is imperative that students be present whenever possible, when students are absent or tardy they are missing out on instructional minutes.
Tardy's
It is very important that students get to school by 7:35 A.M. each morning to begin the school day. It is equally important that students be at school for the entire day, so they do not miss out on instruction. Being on time will contribute to their continued academic success.
As a school community, we are here to help. Try this tardy busting tip next week:
Maybe we can leave it the same as last week but change out the tip. Feel free to edit, I didn’t have time to “fluff” it up.
- Lay your clothes out the night before for the next morning. Seems too simple to make a difference but hunting down matching socks or your favorite t-shirt is quite time consuming. Make sure to check the weather and choose an outfit accordingly. Leave nothing out- right down to the shoes and socks.
