We are ready and excited to welcome students back to MHS on Wednesday! Thank you to those who were able to attend our Open House this past Thursday. It was nice meeting new families sending their students to MHS for the first time and seeing some familiar faces who might be sending younger siblings this year.
The school day will start at 7:25 on Wednesday with an extended homeroom period. All students should report to their homeroom on Wednesday, where they will receive their schedule for the first semester. For those Freshmen and transfer students who could not attend the open house last week, all students will receive their schedule in their homeroom. If you know your Aspen account login and password, accounts will be active Wednesday morning so students can check and view their schedule prior to arriving at school.
For those students taking the bus this year, there is a link below that will take you to all the bus routes and pick-up times for the year. All students riding the bus should have received an email with their bus number in it.
I hope everyone enjoys the last remaining days of summer and I can't wait to welcome everyone back on Wednesday!
Senior Portrait Update:
For those families who would like to sign up for a senior portrait session, please use the link provided here: Senior Portrait Sign Up
Families will need their 8 digit code that was sent from Prestige earlier this summer, or they can search by student name to register for a date.
The summer mailing to Senior families included a pink sheet titled "2023 Senior Yearbook Deadlines." Please be sure to reference that sheet to ensure your senior portrait and senior blurb information are included in this year's yearbook. The deadline to submit senior portraits is October 31st.
Employment Opportunities
If you or someone you know has flexible hours during the school day and would like to get involved at MHS, please have them reach out to us at the high school. All postings are available on schoolspring.com, and a link to each job description is below.
Curriculum Night: Tuesday, September 12th
General Handbook Policy Updates:
Student ID Badges - To ensure the safety of everyone at MHS and to ensure everyone in the building is easily identifiable as a member of our school community, all students will be required to wear their ID badge over the course of the day. Students will be issued an ID badge and lanyard on the first day of school. Students will be expected to have their ID visible at all times when in the building.
Cell phone Policy - In line with current research-based recommendations due to the negative impact of cell phones on education, Mansfield High School has decided to implement a new cell phone policy starting this fall. Further details will follow, but students will not have access to their phones during class time but will be allowed to use them during transition periods and lunch.
Chemical Health Policy - In an effort to ensure consistency in addressing chemical health violations, the school has adopted a policy that applies to all students. This policy aligns with the MIAA chemical health policy. Any student who is caught violating the school's policy on drugs/alcohol/smoking/vaping will have their ability to participate in extracurricular activities suspended for a period of time. More information on this policy will be provided as we approach the school year.
