Physical Features and Wildlife
There is a wide area of mountain ranges, rolling hills, high plateaus, and valleys. The southern boundary edges the boreal cordillera and the eastern end reaches the taiga plains. The western end is formed by the Selwyn range of the Mackenzie Mountains.
These are some of the wildlife that roams the area, both black and grizzly bears, wolves, moose, caribou, weasels, red fox, trumpeter swans, bald and golden eagles, and wood frogs.

Vegetaion/plants
The main tree species are white and black spruce, lodgepole pine, jackpine, subalpine fir, larch, balsam poplar, trembling aspen and white birch.
Tourist facilities
There are three campgrounds at Rabbitkettle Lake, Virginia Falls and Kraus Hotsprings. While you are on your vacation you can enjoy whitewater canoeing, kayaking, and hiking.
