New Year, Same Procedures
To ensure a safe and efficient drop-off, please adhere to the following procedures:
- Drop-Off Begins at 6:35 A.M. at the Gym Doors. Parents should use the second entrance to enter the campus to drop-off behind the school.
- All vehicular traffic MUST enter the campus at the second gate before 7:15 A.M. The main gate (traffic light/guard shack) is for buses, staff, and our ECSE students ONLY.
- Between 6:35 - 7:15 AM, the main office entrance is reserved for our ECSE (Early Childhood Special Education) students ONLY. All other students should use the second entrance to be dropped-off at the gym.
- Students arriving after 7:15 AM are late. Being late disrupts your child's daily routine and learning time. Remember drop off begins each morning at 6:35 AM
Hang Up Before You Pick-Up
Our drop-off and pick-up areas (Gym & Main Entrance) are a NO CELL PHONE ZONE. Thank you for doing your part to keep our Cardinals safe!
As a reminder, the school office closes each day at 3:30 P.M. Because our office staff leaves at this time, it is critical that all students are picked up from school no later than 3:15 P.M. Remember all students are dismissed from school at 2:30 P.M.
If work or other responsibilities prevent you from picking up on time, please make other arrangements for your child, like with our Be A Champion after-school care program.
For our bus riders, please don't forget that it is the parent/guardians' responsibility to be at the bus stop to receive their child. Failure to comply with this district policy could lead to the loss of bus riding privileges. Track your child's bus by clicking here.
Locally Elected, Community Connected
Each January, we honor the community volunteers who serve on their local school boards.
In Texas, school board members are elected by community members who trust them to do what's best for students. This connection ensures that board members are accountable to local voters, attuned to the needs of their communities, and dedicated to a brighter future. Thank you Southside ISD Board of Trustees!
Cardinal Spotlight
Gracelynn Derksen is a Kinder student who consistently embodies the qualities of a respectful, responsible, and safe Cardinal. She actively engages in all whole group lessons and demonstrates her ability to work independently. Gracelynn's amiable and helpful disposition fosters a warm and enjoyable classroom atmosphere, making her a true delight to have in class.
With an impressive teaching career spanning over 25 years, Mrs. Rojas continues to positively influence every student she encounters. As one of our dedicated PK4 Dual Language educators, she maintains high expectations while wholeheartedly embracing her role. Her collaborative spirit shines as she effectively partners with colleagues to ensure student success.
Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow
Don't forget, that when a student is absent from school, the student MUST bring a note signed by a parent/guardian that describes the reason for the absence.
A student absent for more than 3 consecutive days because of a personal illness must bring a statement from a doctor or health clinic verifying the illness or condition that caused the student’s extended absence from school.
For questions regarding your child's attendance, please contact our PEIMS Clerks:
