Almost everyone in their lifetime will know someone who needs a blood transfusion. Every donation helps!

Do You Qualify for Blood Donation?

The American Red Cross strives to make blood donation as safe as possible, be sure you meet these requirements before you get parental permission to donate:

Male donors must weigh 100 pounds or more, depending on their height.

If you are 4'10" you must weigh at least 118lbs

If you are 4'11" you must weigh at least 114lbs

If you are 5' or taller, you must weigh at least 110lbs


Female donors must weigh 110 pounds or more, depending on their height.

If you are 5'1" you must weigh at least 133lbs

If you are 5'2" you must weigh at least 129lbs

If you are 5'3" you must weigh at least 124lbs

If you are 5'4" you must weigh at least 120lbs

If you are 5'5" you must weigh at least 115lbs

If you are 5'6" or taller, you must weigh at least 110lbs
