FULL WEEK SCHOOL STARTS APRIL 26
Research from around the world is being published every week, and it is clear that students who stay home when sick, follow social distancing, and wear their masks properly neither spread nor catch Covid at school. This is why adult staff are insisting that students follow the protocols. We want school to be safe, and we want to avoid quarantines.
We know that students who come to school in person feel nervous for the first few days. All of the adults felt that way at first! Be ready for a bit of a transition. However, once school feels "normal" again, students report that they greatly prefer being here and working in person with their teachers. As classrooms start to fill up, teachers are able to focus more on the students in front of them, and to plan hands on activities and group projects again.
As we move into the end stage of this global pandemic, it feels good to take this next step toward post-pandemic life. If you have not done so already, please let the DPHS office know whether your student will be returning to school. Mr. Malone and I will be available on April 15 at 7 PM via Zoom to answer any questions parents might have about our reopening plans, or any other questions. We are always available via email, as well.

FOOTBALL IN APRIL -- IT'S NO JOKE!
Football season has just started. We are excited for our first home game on Friday, April 2, at 5:00 PM. Thanks to the efforts of our groundskeepers, our gorgeous home field on the hill is ready for action. Our coaches and players have worked hard, and we hope you will join us as we support their efforts.
Also at the game on Friday, you will see the DPHS Cheerleaders and the DPHS Pep Band. These students have also been waiting all school year for their activities. Everyone in attendance will be asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing, but everything else will be just as we remember it. Friday night football is back!!

SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR IN-PERSON LEARNING AT PROUTY
**PLEASE STAY HOME AND LEARN REMOTELY IF YOU FEEL SICK, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE COUGHING, SNEEZING, SORE THROAT, A FEVER, OR A RUNNY NOSE. IF YOU COME TO SCHOOL WITH THOSE SYMPTOMS, WE WILL HAVE TO SEND YOU HOME.**
--Please keep your mask over your mouth AND your nose unless you have a teacher's permission to remove it for a mask break or to eat. Practice wearing a mask now. When you find a mask you can tolerate, get more of that kind. Only surgical-style face masks are allowed. No bandannas, ski masks, or gaiters.
--Please stay six feet behind the person ahead of you when you are walking or waiting in line. If the line stops, please stop, leaving that six foot space.
--Please bring a water bottle. Bottle filling stations are open, but bubblers are closed.
--Please know that we will strictly enforce all safety precautions. If we are to remain open, we as a school MUST prevent the spread not only of COVID-19, but also of the seasonal influenza virus. We must all prioritize the health and safety of the most vulnerable members of our community.
