Connecting Tools and PBIS Expectations

This week, I am focusing on helping K-6th grade connect the tools to our PBIS expectations: Safe, Responsible and Respectful. Students were able to tell me how they can demonstrate being safe, responsible and respectful by utilizing these Toolbox tools. Students understand that these tools can be used to demonstrate all three expectations.

Breathing Tool and Safe

"If we are angry at someone, we can take a few breaths before responding, instead of reacting."

Quiet Safe Place and Responsible

"I can walk away to my quiet safe place if someone is bothering me or says something mean."

Listening Tool and Respect

"I can show respect by using the listening tool when my teacher or parents are talking to me."

In the upcoming weeks, students will continue to learn about the listening tool, empathy tool, and personal space tool.
