Interim Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place next Wednesday, September 20th. Interim conferences take place about halfway through each quarter so you can see how your child is progressing before final report cards come out. All conferences will be virtual, you will receive the Zoom links when you sign up. Please use the links below to sign-up for a time to meet with your child's teacher on Wednesday. Wednesday, September 20 will be an Asynchronous Learning day due to conferences. Students will remain home and work on their assignments. They will be expected to work for the majority of the school day. Teachers will be available on Zoom for any assistance students may need during the day. We will email more information regarding the asynchronous assignments next week.

We are so excited to be participating in the Partnering for Eternity (PFE) Scholarship Program this year!! Parents, this is a NEW financial aid opportunity for your student! Partnering for Eternity is a unique scholarship program that seeks to provide students with opportunities to serve, ease senior isolation, and help with tuition assistance. This program was founded in 2006, inspired by a child who connected with an older adult, creating a lifelong friendship. They currently partner with 150+ Seventh-day Adventist schools across the United States who are receiving the rich blessings of PFE. We are excited to present our EJA families with the opportunity to join the PFE family!

We have updated our calendar to include more language opportunities for the students! We want to expand our students' minds and give them the opportunity to be exposed to different languages. At Imagination Zone, students will have the opportunity to learn a little bit of German, Creole, Spanish and French.

All students are welcome to join in on the afterschool fun! We just ask that you let us know in advance so we can plan properly. Pre-registration is required for all afterschool programming. For clubs that require a fee, payment must be made in advance.

All Imagination Zone activities are scheduled from 3:00-5:00. Students will eat snack (their own from home, if they would like one) first, then the program will begin at 3:30. Please pick up your student promptly at 5:00. Any student remaining after the program, will be sent to aftercare and charged the regular rate.

Parents, please remember that aftercare ends at 4:30 PM every Friday, so that our staff can prepare for the Sabbath. Aftercare ends at 5:30 on Monday-Thursday. Fall is just around the corner! With the cooler weather also comes the higher number of COVID-19, influenza, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections. Just a few reminders to keep our school community healthy and protected against these and other respiratory illnesses:

• Please keep students home if they are sick
• Encourage students to wash their hands often
• Test for COVID-19 if you have symptoms and continue to notify us of any positive results
• If you choose to wear a mask, wear a high-quality one that fits well over your nose and mouth (we do still have masks available in the office for students who would like to wear one at school).

Outdoor school is scheduled for October 23-25 this year. All 6th-8th graders may attend. Outdoor School is a wonderful outdoor learning opportunity for our upper graders at the Mt. Aetna Retreat Center in Maryland. This overnight field trip is organized by the Allegheny East Conference Office of Education. The forms were due today (Friday). The money is due October 13th. So much excitement as our Imagination Zone, our afterschool programming, started this week. The activities focused on team building and exercise. The students had many opportunities to play interactive, cooperative, learning games. They had a BLAST!!
