Husky Highlights Newsletter
🌼June 2022
Principal's Message
Greetings Tuscarora Family,
A special congratulations to the CLASS OF 2022!
We are extremely proud of the ways each Tuscarora Husky overcame challenges and persevered through the different obstacles we experienced this year.
As I reflect back on this school year, I am especially proud of the many accomplishments of our entire Tuscarora community.
- Students, you achieved so much in academics, in athletics, and most importantly, in the ways you supported each other emotionally and socially.
- Staff, you demonstrated flexibility and grace as we navigated change and remained connected with students and families.
- And to the Tuscarora families and community, you never waivered in your steadfast support of the students and staff.
During the month of June, we recognize and honor LGBTQIA Pride Month. During this month, we honor the contributions of those who identify as LGBTQIA and value them as important members of our diverse community.
Also, on June 19th, we celebrate Juneteenth, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. To learn more about Juneteenth and the importance of this date in American history, please visit https://www.history.com/news/what-is-juneteenth.
This newsletter includes lots of great information as we close out the 2021-2022 school year. Please stay connected with us and let us know how we can better support you.
As always, please reach out to me or my staff for assistance.

📖READ ABOUT OUR Library Events📖
The THS Librarians are so happy with all the support and interest students have shown the THS Library this year. From Project Lit to celebrating Diversity and Equity months to Makerspace clinics with Rust Librarians to Research lessons to our new Book Buddies program to reading with our Headstart PreK students to our first Book Fair to a great year for our book circulation, it’s been fantastic! Please keep your students engaged in literacy activities this summer. Encourage reading and have them check in at the teen center at Rust Library. It’s an amazing and fun place to learn and just hang out!
The LIBRARY MAKERSPACE has had a very good year! Students have enjoyed using the supplies for school projects as well as to create on their own. Our supplies are running low and we would love to start off strong again in the coming school year. Please consider donating scissors, markers, special papers, stickers, scrapbooking supplies, yarn, and any other craft or low-tech making supplies you may be ready to clear out of your home. Boxed or bagged items may be dropped off at the front office and marked Library. Thanks for your support!
Please keep your student on top of any overdue books. Thanks for keeping great book circulation going in the THS library.
