Project U.P. Field Trip Permission Slips and Payments due March 28!
We are excited to announce that Project U.P, MPCS’s newest career-based elementary initiative, will be returning this spring! Project U.P. will be“taking-off” on April 10, 11, and 12! In addition to exciting new flights, career exploration opportunities, and engaging assemblies, Project U.P. will be offering field trips! Permission slips are due back by Thursday, March 28, 2019. Payments can be made online through www.myschoolbucks.com, by cash, by check, or by money order made out to Manassas Park Elementary.
**Medication expiration dates**: If your child requires emergency medications (epipens, inhalers, etc.) please make sure they are valid and up to date prior to going on the field trip. Students will not be able to attend the field trip if their necessary emergency medications are expired.
Any questions? Explore the Project U.P. website or reach out to the MPES building coordinators, Mrs. Alina Burton (alina.burton@mpark.net) & Ms. Erin Quinty (erin.quinty@mpark.net). We can’t wait to see what this spring’s program will bring!
Students were excited to select their flights for Project U.P.!

Future meteorologists
Liam H., a student in Mrs. Burton's class, describes the learning activity below:
"The weather report helped us learn about the weather in a fun way. And we learned what it’s like to be a meteorologist, writer and a producer. Now, everyday I know how to check the weather and know what to wear to school or if we will go outside for recess."
A Note from The Nurse
Quite a few of our inhalers and Epi-pens have expired, or are due to expire in April. These emergency medications must accompany your child during a field trip. Please check with nursing to see if your child’s medication needs renewal.
Thank You,
Nurse Kathy
