Good afternoon DCS!

We are excited to share our electronic virtual OPEN HOUSE. Due to COVID19 the WPS elementary schools will not be hosting an in person open house. We hope to have one in the spring.

WPS conferences will be virtual. Teachers will be reaching out to you for scheduling your google meet. Some teachers may have you use the link to the google meet via your child's class google classroom. You can access your child's google classroom by clicking this link and signing in with your child's WPS email and password. Contact your child's teacher with google classroom access questions.

Conferences are November 17th. Students do not have school, but will be assigned asynchronous learning activities. Attendance will be based on completion of the activities.

This month, our schoolwide theme is skills for learning: listening, focusing attention, using self-talk to stay on-task, and being assertive when asking for help with a learning task. In our morning announcements and school assembly, we’ll be reminding students of these skills, which help students be successful learners.

Finally, remember to go directly to your child's teacher for any questions, concerns, positive feedback, or for information about the school day.

ATTENTION PARENT DROP OFF (AM): IMPORTANT NEWS

Parent drop off times will be changing starting Monday, November 1, 2021. Parent drop off at the gym door will be from 8:20 am - 8:45 am. After 8:45 am, please park your car and walk your child to the main office. At the main entrance, press the button to your right and enter in the door to your right when instructed by office staff. Children will be considered tardy if arriving after 8:45 am. Thank you for your flexibility.

Anyone Need a Library Card?

If you are interested in getting library cards, you simply need to stop by the library and fill out the application. In order to complete the application, you will need a valid photo id with current proof of address. There is also a link on our website under the "Check It Out" tab. Ready to Learn

Kindergarten: Kindergarten is working on their Community Unit. The goal is to build a classroom community of learners including the children and their teachers. We learn to help each other and that we are supported by the other people in the classroom. We learn better when we learn together.

In addition, the Kindergarteners had special visitors from Elmrock Farm. Pictures are below.

BOKS (Build Our Kid's Success)

The BOKS Burst Weekly Activities, found in the September Fitness Calendar, are meant to get you and your kids up and moving throughout the day. Studies show that daily movement breaks increase focus, improve mood, and have many added health benefits. Let's all get moving this week with the below bursts!
