Faculty NTI Update
Erpenbeck Elementary
Update for April 1st
From Your Principal, Mrs. Pass
The district decided to have students and staff work through Spring Break in case we want to end the school year earlier, so please begin adjusting your Spring Break plans to ensure you are available to teach. April Fools! Just kidding. I am not looking at a computer during Spring Break. I just may do NO work. I hope you'll join me.
With love from your principal,

Lots of questions about getting videos shared properly and quickly. For me the fastest way to do this is using You Tube. If you list the videos as “UNLISTED” as shown in the video, they will not appear on your channel and can only be accessed with the link.
I’ve created two videos if you are interested in learning how:
1. Uploading videos to YouTube https://youtu.be/wt9_tW_xW44
2. Uploading straight to YouTube from Screencastify https://youtu.be/pE3Id-zajA0
If you have any questions let me know.

How to see EVERYONE in a Hangout
Upon further review, the district has pushed this extension out to all staff and students. So, you don't need to download it - it will show up on your account. I will put out a video for you to send to students on how to use it. Here is what the extension looks like:
Making PDFs or hard copies into editable worksheets.
Okay guys,
I’m trying to limit what I send in emails, but I think this is a gem that could really save you a lot of time if you’re trying to create google docs that look like worksheets you already have. Thank you Viki Baker for finding and sharing. If you have things from TPT or workbooks that you want digitized, feel free to send them my way and I can start working on them. If you want to try on your own, see below.
This video shows you how to turn a PDF or hard copy worksheet into an editable worksheet for students that you can add to your google classroom. https://youtu.be/sd_QN3Jcnao
IMPORTANT: At the end, she mentions telling your kids to make a copy before they type into it, but you can force that option for them. When you paste the link in, you just delete from the end up to, and including, the word “edit” and then just type “copy” (examples below)
This is an example of a link that does not force a copy. If one kid types into it, it will replace what the last kid wrote.

This is an example of a link to the same thing, but it will force them to make their own copy before they start typing into it.

A Message from Campbellsville University-Online
My name is Stephanie Barrett, Regional Field Manager for Campbellsville University-Online. Thank you for speaking with me on the phone earlier today. I hope all is well, especially in light of the COVID-19 global pandemic that we are facing. I thought it best to share the information regarding our online higher education opportunities for the faculty and staff via this email. I typically coordinate a day to be available on site with lunch for the adults, but given the circumstances, this is the next best option!
I want to make myself as available to you and your employees to answer any questions regarding the program information, course offerings, and tuition benefits of Campbellsville University-Online. Please, share this email that contains the attachment detailing the K-12 Education Department. As of summer 2019, the majority of these programs have been reduced to $299 per credit hour.
Due to a partnership with over 8,000 professional organizations and employers, a 10% tuition reduction may be available for employees for any program. Registered members of the Kentucky Educators' Association are included in this benefit as well as parents, spouse, or children of the member.
Please, give me a call at 502-299-2099. I am happy to have one on one conversations with prospective students, waive the $50 application fee, and ensure that the application documents are completed correctly all over the phone.
If there is anything I can do to help during this unprecedented time, please, give me a call or reply to this email.
Thank you,
Stephanie Barrett

Good afternoon Mustangs! I miss seeing everyone’s smiling faces. I am attaching a video that you might want to watch about how to sanitize groceries (never thought in a million years I would be sanitizing my groceries). If you need anything at all or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Take care and try and enjoy your spring break.

Important Info on Video/Picture Permissions
o If you have students without video/picture permission, I would recommend contacting the parent to ask if it is OK for the students to participate “in class” with their video on knowing that the lesson may be recorded and available to students to play back at another time.
o Reports have been made that students are entering meetings after the official meeting has ended and having their own conversations. To prevent this, teachers can remove the meeting link from their classroom, website or wherever it was posted.
o There is great importance in students seeing each other and having their video cameras enabled; however, we just don’t want to put ourselves in a bad situation when a parent has not agreed to video/picture permissions. We are most likely educating many parents on this online learning too!
Smeckens Remote Learning Webinar
Per district office, teachers and Staff should not discuss any health concerns with students during NTI, whether it be their own Covid19 health concerns or the health concerns of others. As more virus testing produces more diagnosis, we want to be clear with staff what is appropriate when talking with students. All specific questions about this should be directed to Kathy Reutman.
