Truett Cathy

Early childhood
Truett Cathy was born on march 14,1921 in Eatonton GA. His family had financial troubles so at the age of 14 his family moved to downtown Atlanta. When he was 25 Truett and his brother built his first restaurant the Dwarf House
Early business
After 5 years of doing business In the dwarf house he decided to build another in Forest Park GA. Sadly not long after that the Dwarf House burnt down,this made him thrive to build more. In 1961 Truett created the boneless chicken sandwich that he called the chick-fil-a.
Chick-fil-a
In 1967 he built the first chick-fil-a restaurant in Greenbrair mall. In the years that followed many more restaurants were built, furthering his sucess.
His charity
In 1973 Truett founded the Team Member Scholarship program to encourage restaurant employees to further their education. In 1987 he founded the Winshape foster home for children.
Later life
Later on truett wrote five books about his success and how he did it. In 2008 truett was awarded the Presidential volunteer service award from president George W. Bush. Truett Cathy died on September 8, 2014 in Clayton county, GA.
