Happy Sunday Elementary Coyotes!
The next two weeks will be extremely busy in the classroom with instruction as well as the community and parent events around our district. Please look at our calendar or the community events for the exact details.
Scholastic Book Fair
We are excited for the Fall Scholastic Book fair that opens this week. The book fair is open during the day for students and staff. Stop by and take a look with your child on Monday and Tuesday after school. The bookfair will be open from 3:30-4:30 on Monday and Tuesday especially for our families. Stop by and take a look!
PK-2nd Grade Fieldtrip - Mesilla Valley Pumkin Patch
We are super excited that our fieldtrip is this week. This fieldtrip will help our students make a connection between the social studies skills of maps and changes in the environment they have been learning about in the classroom with the real world.
Although we appreciate and are thankful for everyone's help, only designated adult chaperones are allowed to attend the fieldtrip with students on this day.
Please feel free to give our front office a call or contact your child's teacher if you should have any questions.
Elementary Fundraiser - Will you help us raise some "dough" for our school?
Thank you elementary students and families. We are doing a great job selling Krispy Kreme cards. Keep up the great work. All Krispy Kreme cards will be delivered this week. Student winners will be announced at our Peprally after the Community Story Book Parade on Monday.
Saturday Camps
All students will be receiving an invitation for November's Saturday Tutoring Camp. Please take a close look at it as your child's teacher will indicate a specific target area for your child.
For the month of November and December, there are two days scheduled for extended learning (Saturday Camp). For November and December, students will receive 3 hours of academic practice and one hour of enrichment class. Students will get to choose their top three choices for enrichment on the permission slip.
Attendance
We take a lot of pride in our attendance at Tornillo Elementary. Please help us maintain it at 98%!
1. When your child is absent, please send the doctor's note or parent note to the office the next day.
2. Tardy Bell rings at 7:50am. A student will receive a tardy slip every time they arrive late.
Ready for a Great Week!
