A Message from the Superintendent
The 2018 teacher of the year, Mandy Manning, recently made the following comment: “We must work together, as educators and as parents, to best meet the needs of our kids," she explained. "Ensuring your child’s success in the classroom and beyond takes a partnership.” As we begin the 2019 school year, I would like to encourage all of us to work together throughout this school year in order to provide the best educational experience for our children. I began the school year by telling our staff that a foundational piece to our success is the positive relationships we have as educators with our students. Research continues to show year after year that when a positive relationship is established between an educator and a student then learning is enhanced. I would also like to stress how valuable a positive relationship is between educators and parents. Our students benefit when there is a line of direct communication between parents and teachers working together to solve problems in order to enhance the educational process. I would like to share five tips from Mrs. Manning’s speech:
- Be open to teacher feedback
- Maintain dialogue with the teacher
- Be present
- Monitor tech use at home
- Ensure healthy time management and organization early on
I look forward to one of the best years in Spring Hill ISD history.

Texas Bank & Trust Announces the 2019-2020 Student Board of Directors
The Student Board program is designed to introduce students to banking and money management at a critical point in their lives, and provide them with the essential economic building blocks to earning, spending, saving, and investing money. The students will be challenged this year in an Olympic-inspired competition, entitled THE 411 FINANCIAL CHALLENGE. This innovative TBT program will take the students through a series of head-to-head, high-spirited games to test their knowledge of budgeting, savings, investing, and professional development. Students will also serve as advisors to the bank on youth financial literacy programming throughout the year.
Students were selected based on their grade point average, extra-curricular activities, and after school work activities. Students must submit an essay with their application as well as two letters of recommendation from either a faculty member or administrator to be considered for the program.
Congratulations to our senior students who were chosen to represent Spring Hill ISD!
