Words from our Principal

Crusader Families,

As we continue to navigate this semester of distance learning, please remember we are here to help. Students, parents, and teachers are overwhelmed. Please continue to communicate with your teachers and reach out to counselors for help. We have access to resources for mental heath and support for students who need help getting organized.

If we had our way, our kids would be running through our hallways, having lunch with their friends and throwing carrots at each other in the quad. They would be playing sports, building robots, singing in choir and marching in our band. Sadly, our current reality is preventing all of that, but I assure you that our teachers, counselors, and administrators still want what is best for your kids.

This week we started our before and after school tutoring program. Many students can benefit from this. Please take the time to review the schedule below and encourage your students to attend to get the help they need with missing assignments.

Progress reports will be posted in the Parent and Student Portal in Infinite Campus on September 18th. These grades are simply a snapshot of what is happening in classes. These are not permanent record, but a way for us to inform you how your child is performing. If you are not satisfied with the grades you see, please reach out to the teachers to discuss options. Our teachers are patient and kind and flexible. They are willing to work with your children to reach success! Grades might be lower than you expect. We are in a pandemic. Our children are struggling. Let's find a balance between holding them accountable and lifting them up during these extremely challenging times.

Please remember that schools in SUHSD will remain in Distance Learning through October 2nd, the beginning of fall break. On September 21st we should receive information about the plan for next quarter.

I wish you the best as you continue to work to support our students from a distance. We miss our Crusaders and can't wait for the day we can welcome them all back into our classrooms!

Sincerely,

Teresa Kramer
