What's Happening at ATP?
January 25-29, 2021
Dear Students, Families, and Staff
I have very minimal information to update you on reopening. As for this week at school, we had Leo and Neftali co-host the cooking class. It is nice to see our students taking part and leading activities. We also have students from Mr. Reyes' class attending Mira Costa College for the first time. The students enrolled in their first course which is very exciting. Mr. Reyes also shared we have one student enrolled in auto mechanics. We hope he enjoys it and learns a lot from the course... who knows he could be our next mechanic!
Next week begins a new month. February is a month with a number of holidays including Valentine's Day and President's Week break. I can't wait! In addition, we have supplementary kits to distribute to our students. These supplementary kits will support our virtual learning as well as support independent practice for soft job skills. There are four different types of supplementary kits: cooking, cleaning, gardening, and art. Your teacher will let you know more about the kits and how to get them. The kits should be ready in about two weeks --stay tuned!
That's it for this week... have a great weekend everyone. Oh, today was "have a fun day at work" day, I hope you all had a FUN day at work.
Take care,
Grace Ridgeway

OUSD Adult Transition Program (OATP)
The adult transition program (ATP) serves students with disabilities who are between the ages of 18 and 22. ATP prepares students to participate in educational, employment, and community-based activities. Daily instruction focuses on activities of daily living and includes opportunities to practice these skills within the classroom and their community. ATP provides a bridge to support students in accessing post-secondary options including courses at local colleges, obtaining competitive integrated employment, and participating in regionalized programs. The primary goal for ATP is to promote opportunities for students to become more independent and become contributing members of their communities.
