Makerspace News
Students in 1st - 5th grade have been using their imaginations, creativity and problem-solving skills to complete some STEM Challenges. In addition, students in grades 3-5th completed a survey to give feedback on the STEM challenges to express what they would like to see in the future in the TES Makerspace area. We have been very explorative in using the tools, materials and supplies donated. I enjoy seeing your children use their problem-solving abilities, creative minds and cooperative attitudes to make connections to the world around us in our Makerspace area.

Please be sure to share this site with your child/children in order for them to continue working on their Computer Science and Digital Literacy skills over the summer.
ABCya.com and Code.org are important for many learning standards. DanceMat typing is what I use with the 1st and 2nd graders to be more aware of the keys placement. Starfall is a great site for PreK-2 as well. Have a happy summer vacation and I will check my emails from time to time if you need to contact me.
Digital Citizenship
Students in 4th and 5th grade have been challenged with some interesting interactive games and informational videos about the proper uses of digital devices and social media. This is a challenging time for our children and I want to assist you to help promote positive decision-making when it comes to all the pros and cons of our digital age. The games that have been created by the Common Sense organization are helpful to give your child information on making better choices in their future when using the internet, digital devices and social media platforms. Feel free to visit www.commonsense.org when you have some free time to check out the parents resources. The link below will bring your child to his or her sign in opportunity to play the games. Talk to your child about what they have learned from these activities. The conversations may be very helpful!
