Principal's Newsletter
From the Desk of Ms. Clark
April 26, 2018
Dear Parents,
"April showers bring May flowers." One of life's most important lessons can be learned from this simple phrase- the value and importance of having faith. Even the unpleasant rains that April often brings can be seen as the promise of flowers in May. Many of life's greatest things come only to those who wait. If we wait patiently and rely on our faith in God, we can endure whatever clouds come our way.
Each day we help our students understand that God is always inside of them and all living things. They are encouraged to look within and hear the voice of Truth. That voice will help them to grow and to prosper. It will be their companion through troubling times and help them to soar when victory arises. People may come and go in this life, but our faith is strengthening and ever-present.
As we plant our seeds in spring to grow our future gardens, let's remember to plant them with faith, hope, and love.
God’s blessings,
Ms. Clark

Summer Enrichment at SKD
2018-2019 School Year
The 2018-2019 school year will begin on Wednesday, September 5th for Grades 1-8. Please see the tentative calendar posted on our school website.
Third Trimester
Our third and final trimester has begun! Even though we are starting the last stretch of the school year, please continue to help us enforce the importance of good behavior and a solid work ethic with the children. Thank you, in advance, for supporting all that the teachers are doing during the school day to keep our students challenged by checking at home to see that homework and projects are completed.
SKD School Family Directory
We look forward to offering a Family Directory for the 2018-2019 School Year. The purpose of this directory is to provide parents an opportunity to communicate about rides, activities, play dates, and etc.
We feel it is important that there be open communication so that each parent can know what other parents/guardians believe and support. It is also important to know that others value the same things and are wiling to work together for a common purpose.
You will have the option to participate or simply opt out. Information will be coming home soon.
NOTE: This directory is ONLY intended for the private use of SKD and its families and its content may NOT be used for any other purpose, including mass mailings or advertisements of any kind.

Financial Aid
Applications for students who will be enrolled in K-12 during the 2018-2019 school year will be available for parents. Applications for Archdiocesan schools, parish schools, and diocesan high schools can be accessed at www.blocs.org or by going directly to https://online.factsmgt.com/aid
Please know that no parent who sincerely desires a Catholic education for their child at Saint Katharine Drexel School will be denied registration because of true financial hardships. Each parish will address this concern on a case by case basis for their parishioners. Any additional financial aid scholarship, in addition to the parishes’ subsidy, will be predetermined, and awarded by the parish, prior to the start of the academic year. Families who believe they are eligible and in need of this aid are asked to contact their local parish office and request a financial aid packet which will include the request for all pertinent financial information.
