The Great Kindness Challenge

This coming week is Kindness Week at Wildwood, and our Student Council kicked off the week by making an announcement at Friday's Pep Rally that encouraged students to find daily ways to create a kinder world.

As we practice kindness in its many forms at school, we also encourage you to make it an emphasis in your homes this coming week. We have included a copy of "The Great Kindness Challenge" and a sweet video about the contagious nature of kindness below to get you started.

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." -Aesop

Color Your World With Kindness

We've got spirit...Yes, we do!

Students had a great time flexing their creativity for our "Anything But A Backpack" spirit day this past Friday. The Pep Rally was also a blast! See pics below.

Our next school spirit day is February 24. The theme will be "Crazy Day", so start planning that crazy hair, crazy socks, crazy hats...CrAzY EvEryThiNg!

Winter Band Concert A Great Success

Optional Progress Reports Go Home Friday - Feb. 3

We have reached the Trimester 2 midpoint, and teachers have assessed students to determine their progress towards Trimester 2 benchmark standards. On Friday, February 3, students who are NOT meeting standards in 1 or more of the reporting fields will bring home a progress report. A few teachers may choose to send progress reports home with every student in their class. We encourage you to review the report, discuss with your student, and connect with your child's teacher as needed to make a plan for improvement.

Wildwood Talent Show Sign-ups

Our annual Wildwood Talent Show will take place on March 10 at 6:30pm.

JogAThon Call For Volunteers

We need your help! Our JogAThon is our biggest fundraiser of the year AND the most fun time for our students. We need your help to make it happen. Our JogAThon Committee will hold its first meeting on Friday, January 20th after drop-off in the office. While Jog isn't until April 6th it takes LOTS of planning and teamwork (plus we do lots of fun things for the kids leading up to the actual big day!). Not sure if you can help or want more info? Join us on the 20th or message Sarah Casey at sarahbsheppard@Hotmail.com.

Come be a part of our PTA JogAThon Committee!

Free Online Tutoring to all California Residents - Available 24/7

As previously communicated, the state of California has made available 24/7 free online tutoring through a new initiative offering homework help in every K-12 subject.

To make accessing this resource even easier, the CVUSD has added a link (Brainfuse icon) to this free online tutoring program directly in each CVUSD student’s Classlink account.

Health and Safety

It is important that all positive cases of COVID-19 are reported to the health office. If your student tests positive for COVID-19, we need to know in order to ensure we are supporting your student through their recovery. The health and safety of our student body and staff is a top priority. If you have any questions or concerns related to COVID-19, please reach out to our office.

Free COVID Test Kits

The district has once again provided free COVID tests for students. Please come by the front office if you would like a 2-pack at home test kit.

CVUSD Invention Convention

All 3rd-5th grade students are invited to participate in CVUSD’s fifth Invention Convention sponsored by Student Support Services. Invention Convention is a showcase where students display inventions that they have created. Students may work alone or in a group of 2-4 students to identify a problem to solve, come up with a solution that can be invented, create the invention and then share it at a convention. This is a great opportunity for students who are creative, curious, who enjoy tinkering and innovating, and who are adept at solving problems!
