A Note from Mrs. Corder
Please remember to send your child's supply fee money along with the pink paper. Also, please sign your child's permission slip for our next field trip to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
End of Year benchmarks are COMPLETE! They worked hard this week, and I am so proud of each and every single second grader!!
If you would like to discuss your child's academics, please contact me via email or text. I will have time set aside for end of the year parent conferences. I will have time available after school (except for Tuesdays) and during my conference time (1:50-2:40). If you need an evening time (between 4:30-6pm), please contact me & I will set a day to stay to meet with you or have a phone conference. Conference availability will be between May 4th - May 19th. I will do my best to meet with you at a time convenient for you.
We still have lots to learn before the end of year. I cannot believe it!
We only have two more spelling tests. Our next two spelling tests will focus on high frequency words. They will get a list on Monday, which will be the list for the next two weeks. We will spend time practicing those words in class.
A Note From Our Counselor, Mrs. Davis:
For the next two weeks (May 1st – 12th), the Leadership Team is having a donation drive to benefit the Pythian Home. They are in need of (nonperishable) kid-friendly snacks for the summer.
Just a reminder that the Pythian Home is non-profit and runs strictly on donations – they receive NO government help.

How Can I help my Child?
Please continue to have your child do their nightly reading and response. This will greatly improve their reading and writing, as well as higher order thinking skills to apply what they’ve read.
Math Skills- Telling time whenever you are out & about when you see a clock. Ask them what time it is. We are working on time to the minute and AM vs. PM.
