Kaizena Digital Passport Initiative Video
All schools in Limestone County were asked to create a video detailing a technology that has been integrated into the classroom.
Elkmont High School Digital Passport Initiative teachers choose to demonstrate Kaizena. Kaizena allows teachers to grade student work and provide audio feedback, comments, or even a URL link right on their shared Google Doc. Kaizen originated as a Japanese business philosophy which works towards continuous improvement and personal efficiency and goes hand in hand with the Learning Focused strategies. The extension provides a useful tool that allows teachers to provide specific and deliberate feedback which the students can view on their own shared document.

Teaching Empathy
The month of February is a great time to talk with your kids about compassion and caring.
Social and emotional learning (SEL) has been one of the George Lucas Educational Foundation's primary strategies for learning since its inception.
Below is a link to some valuable SEL-themed resources from around the web. The good news is that if you're running short on time this month, these lesson plans, tips, and toolkits can be used throughout the year, and they provide inspiring context for students, parents, and teachers.
