Family Survey

We value input from our families. You are an important partner as we work to continually improve our school environment. The Family Survey window is open between January 17 - March 20. If you have more than one child attending this school, you only need to fill out one survey. Everyone should go to or to take the survey and enter the appropriate access code. Principal's Blog

Dear Kincaid Families,

Congratulations to Quynn Campbell in 4th grade and Mr. Popek, our 6th grade teacher, for their combined creativity that sparked the design for our new school logo. We are the "Home of the Kind Coyotes." Our school mascot, the coyote, and our clock tower are great symbols of our school. Click on the picture to get the full view of the new design.

I want to congratulate all students at Kincaid Elementary. Our overall attendance rate in January was 93%. Our two top grade levels were our 6th grade team, at 93.55% and our Kindergarten team at 94.86%! Our students have been very excited about earning incentives from their classroom teachers for attendance over 90% and it has been very successful.

Several of our classrooms are participating in a door/bulletin decorating contest during the month of February to celebrate Black History Month and diversity in our school. Check out the photos below for some of our creative designs.

This is Parent/Teacher Conference Week! We look forward to seeing all of our families. If you would like assistance on scheduling your conference, please call the front office at 245-5530.

Visit Our Schools Month

Come Visit Our School This February!

Community members, parents, and prospective parents are invited to visit any ASD school during the month of February to learn more about our community and public schools. While schools welcome members of the public year-round, this coordinated effort provides parents and community members an opportunity to learn more about the many educational opportunities available.

Mrs. Zorea will be giving tours of Kincaid every Tuesday at 9:30 am.

Thank You PTA

Our PTA is a strong supporter of our students and teachers here at Kincaid. They offer a number of additional opportunities that would not be available to our students without their efforts. We want to thank our PTA for a new addition of chromebook computers in our school library. The chromebook computers will be used in all classrooms during library instruction and available to classroom teachers to check out for special projects. Our teachers will receive a training this Friday on ways to use the chromebook for instructional purposes.

Top Kincaid Coyote

Mr. Akin is our Top Coyote for the month of February! Mr. Akin is an "Absolutely amazing P.E. teacher, coach and a wonderful human being. He holds the highest of standards when teaching different athletic skills to students. He truly cares about the students and has a great sense of humor." Thank you Tim for your dedication to our students.

School Counseling Week

We are celebrating our wonderful counselor, Mr. Burke, this week. Mr. Burke serves Kincaid students every other week. When he is not with us, he is at Campbell serving the students in that community. Mr. Burke teaches lessons in classrooms to promote positive social and emotional behaviors. Students often meet with Mr. Burke during recess or lunch for friendship groups. He does check-ins with students and responds to students who are having a tough day. We appreciate all that Mr. Burke does for Kincaid Elementary! Thank you Mr. Burke!

Rolling Boxcar

Kincaid Elementary is the first school in Alaska to sign up in support of bringing a Rolling Boxcar Museum to Alaska. The museum will help preserve the history of the military in Alaska and its impact on our local community.

"To celebrate the contributions of military personnel by honoring and supporting them using a highway-adapted vintage C-119 “Flying Boxcar” fuselage repurposed as a traveling Alaska and military art gallery, performance venue, and museum."

Students should return the Rolling Boxcar Banks by February 13, 2020.
