Please make sure that everyone has updated the RTI desktop with interventions and baseline FAST data for all IST students, and begin working on a prioritized list of your grade level's IST students in the order that you would like to discuss them (from most concerned to least concerned). Georgia Student Growth Model--NOW Available for Parents
The 2015, 2016, and 2017 Georgia Student Growth Model (GSGM) Student Reports are now available to parents in the SLDS Portal. This information was sent home in Blue Bear Notes and is currently linked on our website. We wanted to let you know in the event you get any questions from parents. Below is a letter to parents, as well as a help guide.
Specials Reminder
Specials teachers need your help with the following.
1) Please make sure that you drop off and pick up your children on time. We have had some instances of teachers being late consistently. This ensures that there is a smooth transition between classes. It also allows all teachers to get their full amount of planning time. If you arrive 1 or 2 minutes late, that takes away at least 4 minutes of the next teachers planning. Be courteous of your colleagues. Remember we always use our classroom phone for the official time, as our cell phones have different carriers that have different times.
2) If you allow your students to chew gum in your class, please have them spit it out before specials. It is a safety concern and can easily cause a mess on the floor.
Thank you for your help in making our specials run smooth throughout the day.

Holiday Hijinks Breakout: Halloween vs. Christmas
Check out this cute holiday break out lesson for 2nd-5th grade students:
Wanda the Witch is jealous of the attention that Santa gets every year. She believes that Halloween is the best holiday of the year and has decided she has a plan to get more attention than Santa. Wanda the witch enlisted the help of her friend Gus the Ghost. Together they kidnapped Santa and hid him in a giant pumpkin. They hope that keeping him hidden until after December 25th will allow people to stay focused on Halloween longer. Decode your card to discover your workstation. Then work with your team to unlock the codes and free Santa from the giant pumpkin. You have 45 minutes to free Santa so he can get ready for Christmas! The children of the world are counting on you!
