Family Fun Night

On November 2nd, our Dayton Elementary families enjoyed a night of traveling the world! Students were given a passport at the door, traveling to different stations (19 countries) learning about each country and earning a stamp for their passport. Students and families explored other countries and cultures through reading, art, and activities! A big thank-you to teachers, PTSO, and community helpers who made this event possible.

Extra Reading and Math Support in a small groups

Title I is a federally funded program for children needing extra support in reading and math. Our district uses multiple criteria to select students that will benefit from extra instruction from a reading teacher and/or a Title I paraprofessional.

How does my child qualify for Title 1 services?

Based on multiple assessments as well as teacher input, students needing additional help with reading will be recommended for the program. You will be contacted if your child qualifies for Title 1 services.

What does Title 1 look like for my child?

Students get direct instruction from teachers or paraprofessionals in small groups. Students have the opportunity to read leveled text, work on writing and spelling words, compose written responses to text and much more! We are also using a program called IXL to help fill in some of our students missing math foundation skills.
