COVID-19 Update
We are now in Phase 5 of the COVID 19 exit strategy.
The College academic year ends for students this Friday 26 June and we have made the decision not to resume with the normal timetable for full and part time students for this last week of term.
During this week students may be invited into college to complete exit tutorials and to say goodbye to their group and lecturers before the summer break. Individual tutors will be in contact with students individually to let them know the expectations for the last week of term.
We continue to focus our provision on those students and apprentices who have practical assessments to complete in order to achieve their qualifications this summer; those students who are required to attend week commencing 15 June onwards will already have been contacted by their tutor to confirm their attendance plan for this coming week, and there will be further updates for apprentices for the week commencing 22 June.
We will be maintaining rigorous hygiene throughout each campus and will be cleaning all our rooms and equipment in between each use.
Coutanchez Campus will be open to the general public from Monday 22 June for the collection of certificates.
Further information can be found on our webpage: http://www.guernseycollege.ac.gg/wp/coronavirus-updates-2/
Students are reminded: Please do not come into College unless you have been specifically invited to do so. We would just like to also remind you that if students have any questions, no matter how small, they should get in touch with their tutor.
You can find the States of Guernsey 'Exit from Lockdown' plan here.
Guidance for Returning Students
IF YOUR CHILD / WARD IS INVITED IN TO ATTEND COLLEGE SESSIONS, please note the following;
FOOD!
The cafes and the vending machines remain closed on each campus. Please make sure that your child/ward brings their own food and drink with them.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT!
Current guidance for students attending educational establishments is to avoid public transport where possible. If your child/ward needs to use public transport they must follow social distancing guidelines, any on-board notices and instructions given by the driver, and remain vigilant with handwashing and hygiene before and after using the bus service.
Please return devices by 26 June
If your son/daughter/ward was loaned a device - laptop or Chromebook please can you remind them to bring back in the device and the charger. The deadline for return of this kit is Friday 26 June. They should return it to any campus reception and leave their name and course details so we can be sure we have all the loaned items back in the College before the summer break.
Results Update
Due to Coronavirus, this year students' work is being graded based on their previous assessments. Students usually finish their course being aware of the grades they have achieved, with these being confirmed on Results Days in August.
This year, guidance from the Awarding Organisations is that students should not be informed of the grades they have been awarded at this stage, so Level 3 students will receive their results on Thursday 13 August, and Level 2 students will receive theirs on Thursday 20 August.
Students will be advised of the process for this nearer the time via our website and social media. If students require their overall predicted grades for progression into employment or higher education they should contact their Tutor, who can help with this.

Contacting You
The College’s preferred method of contact with parents and carers is via email. Please add the email address of your child/ward's course Customer Liaison Officer to your list of ‘safe senders’ or to your contacts list/address book to ensure communications from them arrive directly into your inbox, rather than going into ‘junk’ or ‘spam’.
As you will be contacted directly by the relevant CLO regarding events specific to your child/ward’s course/programme area, it is important that they have an up-to-date email address for you. Their details are listed below.
