The Pizitz Post
for Students, Parents & Families - February 6, 2023
What Are Your Interests?
As we prepare students for both college and careers in Vestavia Hills, we realize that we might be preparing students for jobs and/or college degrees that haven't been created yet. Our world is in a constant state of change. That being said, our goal is to help them understand their interests and build the skill sets they will need to best pursue those interests. The ideas of collaboration, critical thinking, communication and problem solving are among the areas that we want to develop in our students. It was wonderful to hear our Career Day speakers reiterate these ideas with our students on Friday. They encouraged students to explore new opportunities. In speaking to students who lean more toward math and technology interests, our speakers encouraged them to develop their understanding of the humanities. For students who love the more creative side of learning, they were encouraged to work on critical thinking and problem solving.
Our students did a wonderful job of asking questions, and learning more about possibilities for their future. We were thrilled to have many of our high school students come and share about their experiences through the Career and Technical Education pathways at our high school. If you haven't learned about these opportunities, check them out here on their website.
If you were a presenter on Friday- THANK YOU! Our students and staff enjoyed hearing from you as a community partner and Pizitz parent.

Let's Go, Majorettes!
This weekend was the last competition of the year for our majorettes. They have performed and brought school spirit to our pep-rallies and games throughout the year. This weekend, they had the opportunity to show off their talent at the 2023 Winterfest Twirling Competition in Opelika. They earned first place in the Middle School Team Halftime division and second place in the Middle School Team Dance Twirl division.
Congratulations, girls, on a great season at Pizitz! You represent your school well.
