January in the STEAM Lab
January was a busy time in the STEAM Lab as students in grades 1-6 worked on various projects related to three of our STEAM topics: coding, engineering, and digital fabrication. Students also worked on STEAM skills that are so important in our class and in all their classes: collaboration, perseverance, communication, critical thinking, and creativity. We’re so proud of all the students’ hard work!
First in Math! Keep up the great work students!
Goodnoe is proud to share that five of the top ten teams in Council Rock are from GES! In the state of PA, GES ranks in 25th place!! Keep up the great work, students!

Human Growth and Development: Grades 4-6
As part of the yearly health curriculum, students in fourth, fifth, and sixth grades receive instruction on human growth and development during the second semester of the 2022-2023 school year. Classes will be taught by the Physical Education teacher; Ms. Potash or Mrs. McGill. The school nurse will be available for any follow-up questions. We understand that these can be difficult conversations to have with your children, but they are of great importance to our children’s health.
Additional resources for parents are provided in the attached letter under the grade level topics if you are looking to further these conversations at home. Please click on the button below to review this letter
Recess - Cold Weather
When there are cold conditions outside, please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for outside weather. Unless the weather is extreme (rain or excessive cold, 22 degrees or below), children will have recess outside.
SAVE THE DATE! Willy Wonka, Jr.
We are proud to announce that this year's school play is Willy Wonka Jr. Our cast members are hard at work preparing a scrumdiddlyumtious performance! Mark your calendars for a 5pm show on March 28th and a 7pm show on March 29th.
DOGS/PETS ON SCHOOL GROUNDS
When escorting students to and from school, please do not bring pets on school grounds or into the school building. Many of our children have pet allergies or are afraid of animals; therefore, the presence of animals in school or on school grounds is prohibited. Some classes at Goodnoe Elementary School do participate in the Nor’Wester Reading Dogs program, so on occasion you may see dogs visiting. These dogs are specially trained and licensed to work in the schools with students. No other animals are permitted on school property during school hours. Please refer to our board policy for more information on animals in school policy 718 https://go.boarddocs.com/pa/coun/Board.nsf/vpublic?open#
SCHOOL WIDE POSITIVE BEHAVIOR SUPPORT
During the past few weeks, your child’s class has been reviewing the SW-PBIS (School Wide- Positive Behavior Interventions & Support) school expectations. The lessons included a class discussion, modeling and practicing of respectful, responsible, and safe behaviors in the locations listed on the school-wide matrix. Your child’s class also learned about the voice levels that are expected for the different locations. Please take some time to review the matrix and voice level chart with your child. Our school website has a SW-PBIS link with more specific information regarding the structure of Goodnoe’s School Wide Positive Interventions & Support system. Check out more information at the links below.
